What if we take a step back next season? Here are some scenarios: -T-Mac not liking his new coach, complains/ cries about it, calls it quits and retires. -T-Mac getting injured, albeit a more serious one, causing him to be a washed up player, a la Grant Hill. -T-Mac not nearly as motivated as before, plays even *more* passive than this year, people call him a loser, quitter, player with no heart because of this. -Yao Ming proves all doubters right, is soft all season, no longer called as the league's best center. -Yao Ming goes down with a long-term injury, proving the people who said big men don't have long careers. -Shane Battier being a total-non factor, Rudy Gay shines. -We get a PG who can't run an offense, gets called a ballhog. -Vassilis Spanoulis shows he really is a scrub and has no future in the NBA, goes back to Greece. -Juwan Howard is still playing for us. How about "The Rockets continue to ignore Yao's nice outside shooting touch and great passing abilities in hopes that he will eventually become the ultimate morph of Dream's footwork and Shaq's power."
Agree 100%. Please let JVG go! Get us a coach with strong personality but not mediocre principles of "defense"
Everytime Yao shoot those jump-shots, I was pissed off! He should attack under the rim, and dunk the f**k ball.
From most likely to least likey (My opinion) -Tmac gets re-injured again. -Yao gets another foot injury -Tmac shoots 80% of his shots above 15ft and has a percentage of 33%-35% -Yao still will do a simple lay-up instead of dunk the ball when he is underneath the basket leading to two free-throw attempts when he gets fouled as opposed to a 3pt play - The make-up of the team really doesn’t change and all they acquire in the off-season is a tier 2-3 player in the PF position. - No new scheme in offense, because everyone in the league and their mommas know that we have two plays. 1. Throw it in to Yao ( So double team his A$@ ) and 2 When T-mac has the ball just defend the paint because most likely he will attempt jump shot after jumps hot with a very low fg%. No need to worry about the rest of the team because they are a non factor. More to come later.
Worst case senarios: - TMac gets injured again - Yao gets injured again - We get a new coach and perform worse than this year - Rafer is still the best PG on the team - Chuck Hayes remains the best power forward on the team - Mutumbo, Howard and Head are still our best bench players

even if that happen it won't be a shock to me, but it is still better than the false expectations we start with and wake up on every year. Good free agents added, promising rookies, and then none of them play unless they know how to defend. I am not really worried now, becasue I know we have a good owner that does not like loosing.
