Did anyone else hear Drexler and Worrell ragging on EG last night? Drexler was nice enough to remind us all about the draft day trade that brought him here and then he just started going off on him. I honestly think Drexler forgot that EG was dead. Worrell seemed very uncomfortable and finally said “we don’t like to talk about that...” when Drexler wouldn’t stop. But then, Worrell said something like “he played more like Andy Griffith!!” and they both started laughing. I thought it was pretty inappropriate, stomping on a man’s grave like that. What if his family was watching? It was to be expected from Drexler, but I couldn’t believe Worrell went along with it. Anyone else catch that?
I didn't see it but I caught myself making an Eddie Griffin joke driving the othe day about why dashboard DVD players are a bad idea. Right after I said it I realized it was kind of tasteless considering his tragic death.
it seemed that bill wanted to ignore the subject, but clyde just kept pushing and forced bill to say something. clyde sucks as an color guy.
just because the man died doesnt mean he is excused from criticism. Sorry for seeming heartless but hindsight is 20/20 and they were just pointing out we got the sorry end of the deal in the RJ for EG trade. Griffin was a bust, a punk, and riddled with problems. Drex was just pointing that out how we could have had RJ but instead we had EG. If who was dead were only to be talked about in the positive manner...then I guess Hitler was a great artist.
it was more clyde he kept on talking and bill was trying to not say anything about it i dont know if clyde remembered what happened to EG. its a shame what happened to EG
Hitler? WTF? You can critisize the man for his mistakes, everyone can learn from them. But you don't make fun of him on T.V. when he is dead.
Seriously, that's exactly what I was thinking. There was a small moment where neither of them talked and I wondered if maybe a producer was reminding Clyde through his headphones that EG was in fact dead. Didn't stop him though... LOL, there's a logical comparison...
at least he's remembered as alive rather than dead. you hear people lie all the time about how they think about their deceased love ones everyday, every moment.
I think it's just poor memory on Clyde's part. If you dont remind me, I have already forgot EG's car accident.
Totally agree, I just didn't think it was right for Clyde to continually push the issue. It was wrong in the first place, but the way he just kept pushing really got on my nerves. He is a terrible commentator....the funny thing is I didn't think he could get any worse! Pugs
Wasnt supposed to be logical i was just out of bad people that actually had some sort of talents. It was mainly for the sentiment and shock value over who I plugged in there. Dont get me wrong it was a tad tasteless to be mocking him like they were but I guess I am from the school of thought that just because you died doest not mean you are now exclusively talked about in the "he was a great person" mode. If you were a screw up in life, then dying didnt change that. If you were a great man, dying didnt change that...so why should people change their opinions on you postmortem?
I didn't hear what Clyde said but when you criticize someone after their dead, especially this soon after their dead, it affects their loved ones more than anyone else. EG can't hear anything Clyde says but i'm sure his family would be heart broken to hear people ragging on him, they just want to think of the good times. Also, you're giving Hitler too much credit by comparing him to anyone else.
