WAL-MART sells it. WAL-MART? They barely began selling iPods recently, and now this. Nice!

At only 1 inch in size, the mobiBLU Cube is the world's smallest, full-featured digital audio player. The brilliant OLED display lets you easily see track names, settings and battery status. Also features a multi-function headphone jack for USB 2.0 connectivity. Plays 8 to 10 hours (1 GB) of crystal-clear music on a full charge.

Already have an iPod, though. :(

That is a horrible shape for an MP3 player, would you honestly want that in your jeans pocket? "Is that pool chalk in your pocket or are you happy to see me?!"

I saw those and didn't realize they were THAT small! I was looking at getting my stepdaughter and Ipod for x-mas. Maybe I should consider this one too. She may lose it though....she's 14 and not the most responsible teen.

i was thinking the same thing! too small! you can lose that in your purse (or pocket). not smart. just look around on the floor for someone's lost one. no need to buy your own. :D

Well, since we are on the topic..... what is the best Ipod for my 14 year old stepdaughter? Nothing too fancy. I was looking at the shuffle...but I don't think it has enough bells and whistles....so I'm thinking the mini. Any suggestions? And where is the best place to buy one?

Got one for the woman to wear when she's working out.. works well for her, she could never stand to have her Ipod around her arm and it always sliping so this works well around her neck.. Also, when she gets bord with the songs she can tune in the radio.. for the price and functionality they are better than the Ipod shuffle IMO, just not the cool "Apple Look" but who really cares?

iPod Nano is nice, but it is probably a bit fragile for a teenage girl, she'd probably throw it in her purse and break it the first day. I'd go with an iPod Mini, they are probably the most rugged of all iPods.

Ipod Nano is the nicest one out there. Perfect combo or size, price, and style.

    They retail for $199

You can buy some cheap cases for the Nano on Ebay for like 5 bux.

I personally have 4 Rio Carbons, due to ease of transfer of files, but thats just me.

The Nano has that sexy factor, the Carbon doesn't.

I don't know if I'd trust a teenager to protect their fragile $200 toy at all times... but that's just me.

No you're right...I probably wouldn't trust her with the Nano. What are the minis going for? About $100? I'll probably go with that one and save the Nano for me :D ....hehe.

I don't think akperez would want her daughter wearing the "sexy factor". I know I wouldn't want my daughters to do so, either. :D

    I know what you meant.

I'd recommend the iPod Mini, ak. Plenty of space for the many CDs she might have.

Actually the Nano is much more durable than the Mini...the Nano is flash based, rather than hard drive based. This means it is much less likely to stop working after a hard drop on the ground. Think about taking your hard drive out of your PC and dropping it hard on the ground. Now think about taking your flash memory stick and dropping it. Which one is least likely to break? I saw a video online where people were testing the durability of the Nano...they were throwing it on the ground, dropped it off a building, and after it still played they ran over it with a car. Of course the screen was broken, but it still played music after that. I'll see if I can find that video later.

The only thing you have to worry about with the Nano is if you are worried about her losing it.

Svprnaut, you seem to know a lot about iPods. Which one do you have or have had?

huh...I would have thought the opposite. Thanks. How good are those covers they sell to protect your Ipod? I saw a plastic rugged looking one.

Yeah the "sexy factor" ---- not so much important. She needs to appreciate whatever she gets!
