I've never played WOW, but is 5000 Gold that hard to come by? I mean, in the games I play, 5,000 of whatever monetary unit it uses might take a while but not a terrible long time.

I'm guessing she was just juicing for some Dork-O-Dong and figured out a way to weed out the unworth ones.

Gold is pretty hard to come by in WoW. I played for over a year and I never got 1,000. Of course, I wasn't really working on getting gold, but it doesn't roll in fast. The monetary unit in WoW is actually the copper, 100 of which make 1 silver, 100 of which make 1 gold. So, 5,000 gold is actually 50M of the base monetary unit.

 

I think 5000 WOW gold has a real world value of about $200 - $400.

 

I should have expected it was something like that.
