Back in Nov, I had wanted to start a workout group. With travel and weather, it seemed easier to wait until the weather warmed up.

I work out at a gym and play basketball twice a week on the weekends, but during the week I would like a regular routine working out with a group. Again, I don't care if you are overweight or out of shape, if you're old or young, male of female.

I will take care of the workouts, and the equipment (cones, kettle balls, etc...)

If interested please respond with your email address. Looking for a Mon, Wed, Fri type thing around 7pm for 30 minutes to an hour. If you want to get into shape, or want to become more attractive, or if you just want to be more fit, then join me. I was former military, so we will do military style workouts. High intensity workouts designed to break you down. If you want to join then you better come to work.

No charge, save yourself money, you don't need a gym.

I might be interested depending on where you guys do it. I'm currently going to a gym and have sessions with a trainer I do once a week, but my plan (training sessions) is ending in a couple of months and won't be renewing. Or, at least at the once a week degree. Just can't keep spending that type of money every month.

Anyway, my email is mogrod at earthlink dot net

Thanks and look forward to hearing more about it.

I'm interested, but like others it would depend on what part of town we are talking about. Plus I have a lot of weekly responsibilities that might make it difficult (like Wednesday nights are out)...but could probably work around some stuff as needed. My email is matthewa.turner AT gmail DOT com.

^^FYI, peeps... just a warning here: the Hangout is a public forum...
You might want to edit your email address so a human can read it but not a mail-harnessing robot.

Example: you wont get my address _a_t_ effyourobot.com instead of youwontgetmyaddress@effyourobot.com

Yeah, you really don't want to type your email like the above posters in a forum unless it is a throw away account.

Good service announcement Swoly. I'd love to join but I'm up here in frigid Nashville. I keep telling myself I will move back one day... :(

Yes this is a free crossfit.

Make no mistake, I am not a trainer. However, I have a desire to get into shape, and summer is right around the corner. The activities I have in mind will only benefit you if you put in the work. I am not offering private lessons, but from my time in the military I have found that exercising in a group gives you internal as well as external motivation.

I plan on running these sessions around 7pm. Time is subject to changed based on commitment and numbers. As for now, I am looking at Mon, Wed, Fri.

The sessions will last aprox. 30-45 minutes, and will usually consist of exercising in two groups, at 5 minute intervals, allowing one group to rest for 5 minutes while the other group goes hard for 5 minutes. You will be sore, it will suck. I've led group exercises before, and I will say if you don't have the motivation to give it 110% whenever you are there, don't show up. I want to help make a difference in people's lives. I am 6', about 165 lbs and am by no means in great physical shape, but by the time June rolls around I plan to be close to it.

Like I said, I don't care about your age, your physical condition now, your sex, whatever, if I feel like the week's workouts were rough for most, I will schedule a day where we play a game (ultimate Frisbee, relay races, etc..) so we are at least doing something productive.

Im thinking of doing this either at Memorial Park, Woodland Park, or somewhere along the Buffalo Bayou. All of these places are a good 20 minute drive for me in optimal conditions, so 35 minutes in Houston time, so the excuse of 'I don't have time' won't fly. You either want it, or you don't. I am college student taking 18 hours this semester, taking guitar lessons in Katy, and I live in Humble so its quite the hike for me.

I was going to send this in a mass e-mail, but I suppose this will work. Let me know if you have any questions. Sometime tomorrow afternoon I will send out a mass e-mail with those who have replied. I will be asking for cell #'s to text (remember I am 24, that's what we do) so I have an idea of when would be the optimal time to have the most people and where on which day of the week.

    -JD
