Wondering if anyone here has any experience with working outside the United States. If so: How did you get the job? Was it with a US firm? How much work experience was necessary in order to get the position? IOW, could someone with an MBA and not much job experience in the field get a gig like this? What were some pitfalls that you wish someone had told you prior to taking the job? TIA
Actually I am putting together some information for some of my students that want to work outside the United States. Some sources are telling me that getting a job right from MBA outside the US is a REAL long shot. That even very large companies only have 200-300 out of a workforce of 50,000 stationed outside the US and then it is only senior management. I wanted to see if that is accurate with the ClutchFans realm as well.
My roommate works every other month in Africa. He seems to like it, and the money's good. Although he came back to find out his fiance was banging another dude... But I don't think that's because he was gone every other month, she's just a slutty b!tch. I hope she contracts AIDS.
Umm I am not sure if we are talking about the same guy here, but the same thing happened to my friend, and he has the same work arrangement, he works overseas for 5-6 weeks in a row and then comes back home for 3 weeks on average before his next assignment. He is a geophysicist though so that is how his schedule works out.
