My girlfriend is really interested in working for the Rockets. Of late she has sorta become a super-rockets fan. She attends nearly every game and we have even been to games away in San Antonio (im going to the game against the sixers tomorrow also). So, she is really interested in getting some sort of job with the Rockets after she graduates college. She is presently a senior at Rice University majoring in English and Anthropology. Where could she/we find out about stuff like that? Does anybody know how to find that information/who to contact/what to do? Obviously she doesnt want to work in, say, the finance department, but even if you know someone there or something it may be useful. thanks for any help you can provide ------------------
Maybe u can get some info from Tracy Hughes. She is an intern with the Rockets. The phone number according to the Rockets media guide is (713)513-8308. ------------------ SUCK POLICE!!!!!! Here is a front office number: 713-627-3865. The HR contact is Darryl James. Their address is: Two Greenway Plaza, Ste. 400 Houston, TX 77046 You can get some info on the organization at http://www.hoovers.com/co/capsule/7/0,2163,44427,00.html . I have a list at home somewhere of about twenty people who work in the front office, if that's any help to you. ------------------ RealGM Rockets Draft Obligations Summary Gafford Art Artisan
Tracey isn't an intern. She works in the media relations department as Tim Frank and Dan McKenna's assistant. The Rockets are always having turnover - the nature of the business. Chances are, she will have a tough time getting into promotions or media relations. Those jobs are difficult to get because the people in them tend to bounce around the league (or various leagues) until they land with a good team in a good job. Her best bet would be to start off working on the business side and work from there. The best bet is to go through the personel department. I know a lot of people there and I'll drop an email to them and ask how people can have a better chance getting in. I will say this. Unless she is in the media, don't bother with someone like Tracey or anyone in media relations or anyone in the broadcast department. Most of them have strong media backgrounds including work at other tv and radio stations as well as PR. Promotions, business and sales are her best bets to start. Good luck. ------------------ Me fail English? That's unpossible.

I had a girlfriend who tried out for the Jazz Dancers. (and made it) But I think mostly cause of my disapproval for the sheer audacity of working for the Evil Empire convinced her to not take the job.
