    Is there any words in the English language that don't contain vowels :confused:

    I don't know about vowels, but Surfguy's dog sure has a lot of bowels...

    is that a word? i thought it was slang, that has become incorporated into the english language

    Rhythm -- y doesn't act as a vowel there

    There are others, and I believe there are some Hawaiian words that don't have vowels, but are acceptable in Scrabble -- I forget what they are though . . .

    "Rhythm" -- the "y" is pronounced like a soft "i" in "win"-- an unfamiliar word on this board, I know.

    You can also have "st" like in 1st Street, but I don't think that abbreviations count because they aren't full words.
