If you go to woot's website and browse through their forums, you'll find the bag o' crap threads. People who were 'lucky' enough to get them post the pics of the things they get. The last one was on Christmas Day...some guy got a PS3.
I love woot! I'm up most nights till midnight, so I always check woot to see what's up for sale. I love the woot offs but most of the stuff they offer are things I didn't want the first time they offered them. I've bought a few things off of woot including a small mp3 player and a dvd recorder. They sell for $1...with a limit of 3. They are extremely difficult to get...so I would suggest setting up a woot account and pre-entering all of your credit card info. Otherwise, if you're lucky enough to grab a bag, you might lose out on getting your financial info entered. woot's servers practically crawl when the bag is shown on their page. You have to be good with hitting reload and very lucky to have your order accepted.
The bags of crap are random. They could occur anytime. When the progress bar gets toward the end, you probably want to continue to hit refresh constantly. If you see a brown paper bag, make sure hit the I Want One button. Then, you can specify if you want 1, 2 or 3 'bags'. The key is speed. You have to click on the next processing button as quickly as possible. One pitfall to mention is that in my case, my credit card security code was not automatically saved, so I had to manually enter that. Have that number ready just in case you actually get through. There is no guarantee that another bag of crap will come up. Those things are completely random (at least for the buyers). Good luck!
