I know I shouldnt let it get to me, but I am still a little steamed that Nellie was running smack about the Rockets draft. Well, today, I felt this evil kind of retribution. I enjoyed the end of the game where the announcers were talking about how Dallas made a HUGE error moving Langhi, and that Langhi looks to be poised to carve himself a niche in this league for years to come. I have two brother in laws who are Mexican (one actually born in Mexico), and I venture to say they really don't care what my opinion of Nellie is. Nellie does, and always has, had a tendency to draft foreign players. It started way back with Marciulonis. He found this great shooting guard from Europe and it snowballed from there. Anyway, Dallas had a good draft this year. It surely was better than ours. But this is the first draft in a while in which Nellie has played his cards right. Trading for Nowitzki was a good move that paid off. But look at some of his other past selections.... Twas a tacky move on Nellie's part to ridicule our draft, but he is probably bitter about his drafts for the past decade being ridiculed. ------------------ HOOP-T ------------------
Isn't Najera the only foreign player Nelson took in this draft. And he isn't that foreign either since he played college ball in the States. Taking Nowitski was just a smart move. And picking Wang Zhi Zhi was just a gamble that didn't work out. And they tell the other person a lot worse things than to "shut their mouth" and they call the other person more than "ignorant." The funny thing is no doubt Nellie never imagined that him badmouthing the Rockets would appear right on the team's biggest fan site that night. Griff must have loved eavesdropping on that stuff knowing how many were going to read it When teams make trades like that, they may say the right things publically, but you know in the back of their minds they hope the player(s) they traded fail (in a way) so they look like geniuses for having pulled the move. Keep in mind that this past draft was not Nellie's draft but Mark Cuban's draft. I'm pretty sure Nellie wanted Tsoudkalidis but Mark Cuban said "Hell NO!!". I think Nellie is done. Why do you think Mark Cuban has hired so many asst. coaches? Hmmm.. maybe to find a future coach. I think with a owner like Cuban Dallas will be on the rise. I just hope he doesn't get overly involved like Jerry Jones. Either way anything is better than Nellie drafting players. ------------------
