Wonder if they'll still run those "Be a part of Something Big" Commercials

That would be the perfect icing on the cake of a terrible season.

What a shame ! a season in which they should turned around, they blew it on April. Now, have they beaten the likes of Hawks, cavs, bulls, clippers, knicks, heat... we wouln't have been in this positon. Change is needed quickly, a veteran PF perhaps. Justa shame.

I had a big ass poster made for the last game against the Sonics - "Be Part of Something Lousy".

I didn't have the heart to hold it up.

    I should have.

We'll...if you don't think we're part of something big right now then you got blinders on...the whole point was to communicate the message to the fans that this team is on the up-and-up, and to get ready for some truly great things. That message still holds true despite the Rockets not making the playoffs. Are we improving? Yes. Will we be back in the playoffs soon? Yes (wish it was this year though). Will we be contenders again, soon? Yes. It's called patience people. That advertising campaign was never meant to imply that this team is gonna win a championship this year. So get over it. Lest you forget, I don't recall too many sports analysts picking us to get to the playoffs this year anyway. So I think this team ended right about where they were supposed to end. So I say, give it one more year. How about a campain, then, along the likes of, "Please, still be a part of something big" :p

How bout... Be a part of Something that misses the playoffs for 4 consecutive years and no lottery pick to show for it.

Imagine Steve and Cuttino yelling that at the end of the commerical. :D

JunkyardDwg, the Rox are not on the up-and-up. You can't really compare this season to last season where half the roster was injured. A more accurate comparison would be this years team vs the 00-01 team that won 45 games.

    Actually the whole slogan
"Be Part of something Big" refers to Yao and the new arena and change
That slogan is History after this season...

I believe next year's slogan will be something like:

"New Arena. New Year. A whole New way to tank."

    .....

I can imagine this Jeff Hagadorn radio commercial for next season: "Get your 2003-2004 No-Playoff Run season ticket package today! Come and watch pathetic outings by OUR Rockets against the Clippers, Cavs, Hawks, Wizards, Heat, and Bulls!"

They'll be tossed onto the pile. The pile which already has Serge Zwicker, Roderick Rhodes, and the other 'seemed like a good idea at the time' things. :D

"Be part of the rebuilding process" would have been more appropriate for this season.

At least stakeholders (emotional, financial and otherwise) would know what to expect from them.
