Sounds like she was on heavy sleep medication and/or drunk.

    Lock if posted.

No doubt that United F'd up, but false imprisonment? Really? She's turning a legitimate beef into a money grab.

The false imprisonment claim will be thrown out first.

*arkoe is trying to figure out how she was harmed.

False imprisonment is a joke. No one refused her the right to leave.

I've slept on a lot of planes. I can sleep through just about anything (take off, turbulence, preflight checks, getting hit by the snack cart, etc.). Hell, I once agreed to the emergency exit procedures dead asleep. I don't think I've ever slept through a landing though. How do you sleep through a) the physical landing b) the announcements upon landing c) the commotion of all the other passengers disembarking the plane.

I'd have to agree on the heavy meds. Probably took sleeping pills of one sort or another, which when that comes out in court the judge will say "Great, you wanted to sleep and you got to sleep" and throw out the case.

They should also change 'American' to 'United'.

I saw an interview with her yesterday And she did not come across well at all. If American offers her a bag of peanuts she should accept

Ridiculous lawsuit. I hope she loses and has to eat all the lawyer cost.

Her lawyer is semi-prominent. He was Dr. Kevorkian's lawyer and he was the lawyer for the family that sued the Jenny Jones Show after one of guests was murdered after revealing that he was attracted to a male friend on the show.

If American offers her anything she should accept, considering she is suing United.

I wrote a one page letter to American last month complaining about how my first class seat from Tokyo to Dallas was defective (wouldn't recline properly).

They credited me 10,000 AA miles.

Heck, I should have just sued.

10,000 miles is not enough for that, in my opinion - if the seat doesn't recline, how is it a first-class experience? Proper compensation would be an upgrade voucher for business to first intercontintental or something like that.

Their first class trans-Pacific pods have the "lay flat" seats that turn into a bed when reclined all the way.

To be fair, my seat did recline all the way into the flat position, but it wasn't fully automated as it should have been. The flight attendent had to push it down manually.

Oh, ok...in this case, to be honest, I wouldn't even have written a letter or expected any compensation.

Do you work in banking or something?

Consulting, but was traveling to Japan on vacation.

I booked the flight on miles...25,000 miles one-way for coach, 62,500 on the way back in first.

I have no problem with the suit, just for precedent's sake and to make flight attendants a bit more "attendant-ive." At a more central/international hub, this could've actually turned out somewhat worse.

If I was the passenger sitting next to her, I would have woken her up, but with alot of apologies and rationalizing. But if I was in a line with other passengers de-planing, not sure.

I'm suprised she didn't have a dream about landing her fighter jet on the helipad at Manolo Blanik's and then get spooked out of REM. I don't know how many times I've walked into the men's room after banging Rachel Weisz, getting a gas-trading job or losing a hundred-fifty pounds, and woken up with soggy sheets.
