    The new Treks are dying a slow painful death by itself. Putting them in this type of fake controversy is doing them a favor and will likely embolden other gimmicky moves.

    He could learn from the grates and double triple post in the same thread.

    @Xerobull

    you can’t dump some dead show onto the planet Genesis and have it return to life like Spock

    This woman got two Democratic senators out of Ruby Red Georgia and is making it a battleground state...yeah definitely.

    Lower Decks is the best Trek show they have.

    They need to at the very least drop the serial format. It's just not Star Trek.

    The best review I could have ever seen about the new shows is that they are at best average sci-fi shows but not really Star Trek.

    Also, I want to add, Star Trek has been the most 'woke' series ever. Star Trek was tackling LGBTQ+ issues before it was trendy to do so. If TNG or DS9 or VOY released today they would all be punished by the usual crowd for being "WOKE" and "Too Diverse"

    I agree. It's a bastardization of the license and the streaming format takes the premise of a 2-3 part episode and needlessly stretches it out to ten. The budget is good, but...

    I wrote in a different thread: Ironically, I'm turned off by the new spinoffs on P+ because not only is it poorly written (plot, supporting characters, spirit), their themes aren't presented as morality plays, where the viewer confronts their own biases during the show's conflict, but it's presented established "future" truth. Some episodes in Discovery show a bumbling idiot accidentally kill a fellow crewmember (inept leadership) but all is well at the end of the episode because the idiot ends up "understanding her journey" in order to save the day. W T F...there's still blood on your hands if you take responsibility for leading.

    Orville captures the spirit better.
