I'm in for $90m/3yrs total but I give that less than 1% chance of happening. In his mind that's making $90m out of a possible $200m max. That's a catastrophic situation for his agent and career. The Sixers would certainly offer him more than that and they are actually one player or coach away from winning it all. Hope I'm wrong. Would be nice especially for attracting a max-worthy FA or trade target. You need one of those.
There are probably two teams willing to throw a bag of money at Harden: Philly - if Morey hasn't been fired, or told to 'stand down' on his Harden love affair. Philly has no easy path to replace him. Morey will be begging for a sign-and-trade deal with Harden if he wants to leave...versus leaving Morey holding an empty bag. Houston - Tillman probably thinks it will sell tickets and regenerate interest in the Rockets. He's worth considerably LESS than his $35.6M player option, and any multi-year contract he gets should be short term, with declining annual pay, and TEAM options to get out of the deal if he continues his rapid decline. We had him for his entire prime, and in the regular season his greatness was a joy to behold. All players have a shelf life. He's a shell of his former self, and we should go younger in the FA pool than a 34-year old broken down semi-washed Harden. Between trades, FAs, and the draft we have a lot of options.
dudes talking about championships when we’re currently would need massive improvement just to make the play-in… LOL
not sure why Woj is mentioning the Wemby part he’s making it sound like there’s a possibility that Wemby could make the Rockets want to move in a different direction when it comes to Harden…Why would that be the case?
I rather get a player that completely buys in since this team desperately needs a culture reset. I don't know who that will be but Harden ain't that. He will still show up out of shape, will still party in Vegas between games, and will still try to take control of the team now that there's no vets or stars to defer to.
no, unlike you clearly i actually looked at the 2024 FA list. it stinks all you're doing it assuming and think that means something. it doesn't.
For all the reasons why Rockets fans would want Harden, I fail to see why OKC wouldn't also have those same benefits if not more benefits to pursuing Harden? What could they offer him? 4 years 134 mil? His player option with the Sixers next year is what... 35? If Harden really does make life easier for your young studs, why wouldn't OKC want to bring him back for a homecoming?
who knows. with all the hype though i can understand since his impact is supposed to be massive on all fronts for the team thats lucky enough to draft him at 1
because they already have their backcourt. 1 of them being 1st team all nba. Harden doesn't view okc as home. it's not okc's choice, it's harden's. Harden willing to go back and live in okc at this stage of his career would never happen
yeah, I didn’t understand that post OKC - Shai and Giddey Rockets - KPJ who isn’t a PG, and Green if the Rockets had Shai at PG, there wouldn’t be any Harden to Houston smoke because we wouldn’t be interested OKC made the play-in…Rockets had to scratch and claw just to barely win 20 games with our young guys all running around like headless chickens with no playmaker or someone to run the offense then like u said as well, Harden isn’t gonna live in OKC
