his new article about the lebron leaving is good but there was one little sentence in there that made me laugh: link
The cultists are sensitive Yoyo. They'll hammer your thread like they did to the humor piece Clutch posted
Who exactly hailed it a success, Woj? I don't think anyone was particularly encouraged by Morey's whopping 15 minutes of face time with Bosh. You have to be impressed by the due diligence, but "resounding success?" Not quite. Morey's cult has a long way to go before it rivals Riley's.
Sports "journalist" hate being second guessed, and they HATE being corrected by fans like us. For the most part, they represent a dying industry, and they partially blame blogs and message boards for their declining status.
now that i think about it i take offense to the word cult despite the recent flurry of threads in the Hangout cults usually have 1:1 if not more ratio of women to men. that is not the case at all here hell thats not the case anywhere on the internet
I like Morey a lot, think he is doing a great job, but even he would admit he could improve some. When the team wins a championship then we can all drink from the blood red Rocket's chalice. DD
If there was a cult, it was the Morey-independent Rocket homers that were convinced Bosh would be ours simply because he was our top (only) target. Absolutely nothing during the courting process gave the slightest bit of hope that the interest was mutual.
All true, but as fans we can cheer for it, and hope, but you are right. Fanboys are fanboys. Found a solution to the BP oil leak, cured cancer, traded Tmac.. One out of 3 is not bad. I guess Woj thinks we are all just Morey suck ups........well some of us anyway. DD
Woj writes these articles like he's in the mind of every player and executive. I wonder sometimes how much of this is based on real facts. He seems rarely to be wrong, though, so the guy must have unbelievable sources.
In before Hillboy. And Riley didn't do anything impressive. The Nazgul always wanted to play in Miami, and all he had to do was make sure there were no major dumb contracts before 2010. A monkey could have done that.
You know what I think we need? A 20-page thread where no one posts anything except that one picture of Daryl Morey (posted above). Then we send the link via Twitter to Morey en masse.
Riley's presence is a huge draw in itself. I don't think that can be discounted, though you're right there were other things working in Miami's favor.
kool-aid anyone? Coincidence calling us a cult and there being a suicide "if you were going to kill yourself..." thread in the same day??
If CF had any consensus on Bosh it was that the odds were against us, but it was worth it for Morey to try. No one ever thought it was a slam dunk.
