Yet they can’t dunk, dribble, they carry the ball, travel , double dribble, foul like every time. They could shoot 3s though but that’s about it.

I don't begrudge anyone trying to maximize their earnings but.........
If the company you are working for is losing 40 mil a year you might want to not come at them with pay us what you owe us tee shirts.
there is a much better way to go about this.

PS I have never seen a WNBA game. Just talking business sense.

One last question. why did the Comets leave Houston?

To boost player pay sustainably, the WNBA could raise revenue sharing to 40%, expand the season from 44 to 64 games, and secure better TV deals. Under this model, the top 10% of players would earn up to $3 - $5 million, while the remaining 90% would see their salaries rise to $250,000 - $1,000,000. This would bring total player salaries to approximately $105.5 million across the league. With a longer season and stronger media rights, league revenue could grow by 70% to $340 million, pushing the salary cap (based on 40% revenue sharing) to $140 million

They don't really want to be paid what they are worth.

The WNBA and USWNT need a wakeup call in the worst way.

Imagine you're part of a band that tours every year, and each tour loses 50+ million dollars.

And the way you respond to this is by demanding higher salaries.

    Insane.

Some folx don't beleive they losing money
normally I would agree .. . corps are messy and deceptive
    but
I just don't know anyone that watches WNBA consistently
    or support it like that

The WNBA is more of a Marketing and Advertising Campaign than anything else

How do *you* calculate their worth?

The WNBA's revenue is estimated to be between $180 million and $200 million for the 2023 season. This represents a significant increase from 2019, where the league generated $102 million.
    According to Google

WNBA players currently receive approximately 9.3% of the league's total revenue, a figure significantly lower than the NBA's 50% revenue split for its players
    Also according to Google

    If at 9.3% they losing 40 Million a year . . . . .

Do you think they should get the 50% the NBA Players get?

The league should at least break even. If the players got 9.3% and the league still lost $40 million, ain't no way they should get 50% of revenues. In the NBA, total revenues nuke total costs. In the WNBA, apparently revenue is less than total costs.

Bringing up the 50% revenue share in the NBA is a false dichotomy that is irrelevant to the WNBA because WNBA revenue is relatively miniscule. The terms revenue share and profit share are not the same.

However, if WNBA players are willing to return to flying commercial, stay in lesser hotels, have lower meal expenses, etc, maybe their salaries could be adjusted upwards to absorb the cost savings.

Bottom line is the players are telling the WNBA to be willing to lose more money. Does that make sense to you?

They're making money. Have you seen the ticket prices for the Caitlyn and Bueckers teams? Why else are other cities seeking expansion? The gaslight is real

Oh no . . .I think you are quite right
I just don't see how the women can justify their position.

Honestly . . .women's College Basketball has a bigger following

The didn't move, they just went out of business. Former Rockets owner Alexander sold the team to that Hilton furniture chainsaw commercials guy. Comets then left Toyota Center due to increased rent (similar to how we lost the Aeros hockey team) and they started playing in that dumpy NRG Arena. Out of business a year later.

People should put their money where they're mouth is. As long as WNBA's revenue is a pittance compared to the NBA, increasing salaries won't make sense financially.

Make your product as good as the NBA is, then I would support 100% them having equal pay

I attended a Houston Dash soccer match after @strosb4bros had started one of his race threads about black wnba players hating on Clark. Don't want to D&D this thread so I'll leave it there but there were tons of lesbian women at the Dash match and id forgotten that's what I used to think about WNBA games as that's something you can't help but notice

Not all women's sports are like that and I was surprised soccer is like that
