I'm going to guess what we're going to do is move up Scola to C and insert Landry at PF. Maybe Adelman will go small, putting Artest at the 4 and inserting Wafer at the 2. Or we could put Lowry and Brooks in the game at the same time. Either way, we're pretty much screwed. The Lakers player that should probably celebrate the most from this is Andrew Bynum. If they go big with Bynum at C, and Gasol at PF, what do we do? As for Yao... what else can you say? The injury bug struck him real late this time. Losing him probably doesn't hurt people here as much considering that it was unlikely that we beat the Lakers anyway. But what if McGrady was here healthy and playing well like he always does in the playoffs? What if we were the 2 seed and on the way to contending for a championship and this happened? That's going to be a hell of a bench. Yao, McGrady, and Mutombo sitting next to each other in suits.
I'd say start Landry because he seems to play well against the Lakers. But maybe he's not as effective playing mostly against the 1st unit. I can see the Rockets going with Landry or Hayes.
i'd start chuck hayes. we still need landry for his offense off the bench. pg - brooks sg - battier sf - artest pf - hayes c - scola we def have to speed the game up. and utilize scola more.
we need to play fast tempo rick adelman style bball starter Brooks Wafer Battier Artest Scola Bench Lowry Landry white barry cook dorsey speed....attack basket....get to free throw line....play with heart "it is not over until the fat lady sing....or until ron artest goes down" then we are screw PS. there is always next yuear
1. Does this mean phil will go back to starting bynum and move gasol to the 4? 2. Artest almost assuredly will have the 'its on me attitude' and jacks up 30 shots
Hayes is going to be center. I am praying to god Phil Jackson doesnt start Bynum again. I have a feeling that will be his counter move.
Start Chuck Hayes with Scola. Landry is too valuable off the bench and he doesn't do well against big front lines like LA's starters. This sucks so bad but the bright side is that it will force Adelman to mix things up a bit.
Assuming they start: Gasol-Odom-Bryant-Ariza-Fisher I start: Scola-Artest-Battier-Brooks-Lowry I wouldn't start both Landry + Scola, since that leaves Hayes as your only big off the bench, and Landry's not a fantastic matchup against anyone on the Lakers. I'd rather start Wafer on Ariza, but I don't know if you can do that after the recent bench incident. I assume that Brian Cook gets activated. Hooray. Whatever happens, Kobe better have to ice up after the next two games. Make them hurt.
I'm good with either one of these. I think that will stop their pick and roll. Cook should get some minutes now to spread the floor. We need to run and gun now.
