I understand that Barry wasn't getting PT behind Bogans and Head. But man, this is ridiculous. Yao needs some help. And it's not like it would be expensive. Is Barry just so injured that he can't get on the floor?

Well people who always defend JVG and CD on this board think they have to cut someone in order to sign a backup PG (and JVG says) so...oh wait, they could have cut that Miami pg right away. Then they say, Barry can't play defense... oh wait, nobody on the floor can play defense, nor shoot the ball. Then they say it's to give Barry a chance to play somewhere for a contender...oh wait, he retires.
Sounds like an absurd thing to say. Seriously though what makes more sense? Its 3 games too late now though.
JVG said right from the beginning in one statement that it is to give Barry the OPTION to retire or play for Denver (he never said contender) rather than sit on the end of our bench the remainder of the season. JVG's story never waivered. But nice attempt to spin it. You must be a republican. Barry is done. Lets move on.
Barry is released and then retires because he's injured and has nothing left to give, so you want to bring him back? Why, so he can sit on the bench like he did all year? I really don't understand the mindset in this place sometimes. Every time someone leaves, everyone thinks we should bring him back. Rudy, Francis, Cato, Mobley, and now Barry. I think if we decided to cut Howard and Wesley, like so many here seem to want to do, the same people would be screaming for them to come back a week later.
No offense to any women out there but you guys are acting like a bunch of women....lol all the posts are getting way to emotional, they really lack any substance in most cases, with the few exceptions they is no logic or reason associated with them. Example: We should bring Barry back and why did we cut him in the first place? Without stopping to think that if he could actually offer something to the team the Rockets would not have release him in the first place.... I love JB's game, great IQ, better then average shooter, fun team guy.... But......he is old now, injured and can't defend the quicker guys in the league anymore so you could compare him to Ryan Bowen. Rybo is a good defender but can't score, Barry is a good outside shooter but can't defend. I'd personally like to see an end to thise type of emotional knee jerk posts and go back to the days when I first came to the BBS and the post were well thought out and had a lot of logic and reason to them. Instead we get these posts like "Why don't the Rockets trade for Francis?" Do I we really need to explain this whole thing again? There is a reason he got traded from here AND Orlando....LOL
Thanks for showing up You neglect to the fact that JVG also said he talked to Barry about cutting him becuase they need that roster spot to sign a PG. Well, Barry was cut to sign Brunson. A few days later, Fitch was cut and noboby was signed. Now, spin that! From the way you say it, it seems JVG put Barry first, team second? Well, Barry doesn't exactly like being cut! Do him a favor, you say? For those of you who say Barry is done, end of story, you don't really know. Barry got on the floor a few times before he was cut. He may not play good defense, but he can shoot the 3. C Robinson was used only to shoot the 3s the other night by the NETS. As of right now, there is an empty roster spot, and this team desperately need someone who can shoot. That's all I know.

Barry said himself on a 610 interview that he hated sitting on the bench. JVG will not play anybody that isn't capable of playing D. Thats the reality of it. Maybe other teams do that ...but not JVG. As a result, Barry won't suit up in Houston again. So you can argue what the Rockets would do if we had a different coach ...or you can just accept that fact that Barry is retired.
