You are posting this a little early don't you think? Anyway I think we will win 45-50 games.

While I do like the Van Gundy signing, I don't think we should expect a remarkable improvement in a transition year. So, I think we'll be around the 44 wins we got last year, give or take a couple.

Oh but don't forget that this will be YAO's second season and with an improved training in the off season and more rest he will only carry us even further. With Van Gundy he will will get Eddie and Mobley's a**es into shape(Heads screwed on) and not let them play down to there competion so I would expect about 51 wins

the rockets will win 50 games. We have the team, just need the guidance. 2 years ago did anyone think the pistons under Carlisle would win 50 games, or did anyone think the nets would go to the finals. Of course not, this team lost games last year to bad teams and it won't happen again. Transistion year or not, you can win 50 games.

With how good the West is, we might need 50 to get in the playoffs. Well, 50 would guarantee a playoff spot, but it's definitely getting tough. Phoenix and Golden State are also on the rise and the Hornets will also be joining the West soon. Even the Grizzlies are pretty good.

Not knowing what changes will be made to the roster makes any prediction faulty.

Just by keeping current team together we will have 50-53 wins with of coarse NO injurys. Lets say we have a trade and either get Brand or Payton then we are a 55-65 win team. Van Gundy will not allow disobeidence.

I said it before, I'll say it again.

    38 +/- 4, lottery slot.

That crosses two of your choices. I went lower.

JVG will only be as good as our players are. If Steve and Yao improve, then I would expect our record to improve also. If we add a nice vet or two, then I would expect our record to improve.

However, if the roster stays the same and Steve continues to be, well, Steve, and Yao doesn't improve a whole lot on his rookie year, then we will be no better than we were under Rudy.

Dont over shoot in expectations during the first year. During this time he has to sort the monumental problem of Dribble Mania and selfish players, playing in two different directions at the same time. One of which is a Guard Oriented direction and the other a Center Oriented direction. A lot depends on his diciplin and the quality of his Assistants, also the ability of the roster to respond to his direction. Of course all can be speeded up if he improves the Roster prior to the beginnibg of the season.

I think anywhere between 45-49 is a reasonable prediction given that we play in the Western Conference. Seattle's improving, as is Golden State. Utah will crash and burn next year without the Mailman and Flopton.

who's voting 10-20? I don't think we'll be worse unless we have a major injury. I'm thinking we'll be +5 from this year since the West is really tough. I look around and I honestly think that we're not better than Sacramento, Dallas, San Antonio, L.A., and Minnesota. Phoenix, Golden State, and Seattle all improved a lot last year also, so we have a big challenge ahead.

I agree San Antonio, Dallas, Sacramento will have better records but if LA starts off like it did this year and with KOBY having surgery we can pass them and Minnesota is not better than us they have been over achieving the last 2 years. I see us falling anywhere from 4th or 5th in the west and winning our 1st round matchup because Van Gundy is damn good playoff coach. Remember he got the knicks to the finals with the 8th seeded team
