He also played some terrific defense on Melo the other night. Glad to see him doing well in New Orleans, Trevor wasn't getting any love here.
I just don't understand why the rockets gave up two of best perimeter defenders Ariza & Artest so easily. Both only played one season for the rockets. Instead, they keep declining Battier.
1. We tried to resign Artest. 2. We got Courtney Lee in return for Ariza. He's good, but it's hard to cover up for so many bad defensive players.
i hated that ****ing trade from the instant it was reported here. was a salary dump plain and simple. all the crap the front office tried to sell us right afterwards about lee being a player we coveted for long long time was nothing more than crap. we traded a legit starter proven to drain clutch shots in big games for a bench player who showed what he does in the clutch in our last preseason game.
Ariza > Battier He would fit really nicely with this lineup. Brooks - Martin - Ariza Great athleticism.
Only offer one-year extension for Artest. Of course, he wouldn't accept it. Lee is a ok player. He isn't that special. Otherwise, Magic and Nets wouldn't trade him. With him, the nets were the worst team last year. In contrast, Ariza is a speical player. No many good defenders like him in this league.
in the hornets/nuggets game last nite ariza gave melo fits on the defensive end. that would've fit in quite nicely on our team tonight...
Yes, but he screws up our offense in so many ways... Houston with its offensive set can't handle that kind of "superstar" ego from a BAD player. Bricking all your shots doesn't help that matter either. I can't even count all the countless times I've seen Ariza whine after a missed shot, or personal turnover, or a bad shot from a teammate and completely ignore his defensive assignment. The dude also pouts like a little b**** every time he doesn't touch the ball. DO NOT WANT.
