With the new additition we have nice youth, athleticism, and shooting. I say we add more youth and athleticism with the MLE split between Marcus Banks and Trevor Ariza both are asking 3 mil per i think we should be able to talk them down and get 'em. What do yall say?
Aree!!! I think VSpan is the first choice for Rox to play 2 next season. And the next goal is Trevor Ariza or Tony Battie.
Get JL3. He looks like he definately improved and looks like he can actually help our squad. Ya remember that cold blooded three he shot to send it to overtime. We really need a back up SF and maybe Ariza can fill that role. It would be awesome if we can manage to get Ariza, Banks, and JL3.
split the MLE between V-span who will back up Rafer and Arizia who will give depth at the 2/3 backup spots.
Man im in Reno right now and i just saw on the News the report of the rox trade and they showed a highlight clip of Snyder and i was blown away. I really thought that he was just a good shooter but they also showed him throwing it down over a guys head i mean he literally jumped over him. Im so excited he must have had a great money ball though because if you put his stats into 40mpg he averages 17ppg 5rpg and 1spg. For all you guys that wanted JR Smith you may have just gotten him only with much less down side. But if the rockets could add Ariza and Banks along with JL3 our offseason would be an extremely youthful, talented, and imo great offseason.
Why everyone in such a hurry to get rid of Juwan? Sad, but he's the only thing remotely resembling an NBA power forward on the roster currently
Yea that would be great and i think it is very possible i have read that all ariza and banks want is 3 mil so then we could sign JL3 to the minimum.
Trading for a scrub who will be of little consequence does not constitute as adding "youth and athleticism." They need atleast two of their best five players to not be a complete stiff to stand a prayer matching up against some of these western conference playoff teams.
You're in Reno? What the heck are you doing posting messages when you should be hitting the blackjack table and the slots? That's dedication to your team!
you really think Juwan adds the "power" element to power forward?? Juwan dosent rebound, doesn't play defense, and is an overrated offensive player. Sometimes he will have good scoring games, but usually at the expense of the team, since the team loses when he has those games. There are players out there who affect the game positively, where it doesn't show in the box score. Juwan is the exact opposite. Juwan, you've have had a nice career, made millions of dollars you should not have, why don't you retire, for the good of team? please?
battie suck!!! no matter what, spend all the MLE on banks, ariza, and get them cheap. mid way of the season, we can look for our PF with the assets we have.
trading one bad contract for worser one, but if the player produces more and gives more then juwan then it worth taking risk....leading to trade of juwan for miles...i know all those post abot this trade but come to think of it....in 2009-2010 season, line up of rafer, tmac, shane, miles, and yao is good mix of atlisism...
I like Ariza and think he's a great defender at the three, but he can't shoot the ball and can't play the two. There may be better ways to spend our MLE money. I still don't understand the obsession with Spanoulis right now. I think he can be a decent player one day, but he will not give us much this season: he's a slasher with a average jump shot who has relied on his athleticism in Europe. His game is somewhat similar to Ginobli, but Manu came in older, more developed, and with a better jump shot. I don't doubt that Spanoulis can be a good player for us one day, but I don't think that day is close right now. I would still prefer Banks to him, but keep hearing Banks to Cleveland. As far as the four is concerned, guys like Wilcox and Gooden don't bring anywhere near their value financially. And Reggie Evans? Could someone please tell me what he has that Chuck Hayes doesn't? They have pretty similar size, skill sets, and production, but Hayes is cheaper. Battie is not a bad option because he can play either post spot, as can Ely. Lorenzen Wright is not an awful option either, nor is Jarred Jeffries, but those two don't give us something at both positions in the paint. That seems to be what we need at this point.
