I've been watching the Kings and Lakers matchup.

Geez if Webber had Mobley and Francis instead of Christie and Williams. Less of course stojakovitch. The Rockets oops excuse me the Webber led team would be down or up be a game.

The kings pride themselves as an uptempo team. But they have little half court game. It's Webber or a wide open shot and a miss.

Imagine Webber on the post. Passing it out to a wide open 3 who passes the ball to a cutting Cuttio who either goes for the score or passes it to a hard charging webber to the rim. For 2 and the foul. Nice!!

Only if the Rockets can get a Center. Then this team is among the top 3 teams next season. Yet, all of course assuming that the zone won't dramatically change the talent and it's play.

It'd be a much more exciting game to watch.

We would still lose to the Lakers.

We need someone intimidating on the low block.

I think roxt is right. We still shouldnt give up on cato. I mean he supposedly worked hard on his game last summer and i'm sure he is gonna work hard on his game again. He didnt get enough PT this year to develop his skills on the court. I think he is intimidating enough on the defensive end. His offensive game just needs a little polishing, but if we get webber and keep MO-T we wont need a scorer from the center position. I just think that its too early to give up on cato.

Cato can D up Shaq. He has done it before and he will do it again.

yes, exactly, He can. I remember those great games. [IMG] they were awsome. Oh well, yeah i guess i can look towards Cato for a center. but ofcourse, first we check with Dream.

If we re-sign Dream, then sign Webber, I think we're better off that everyone except San Antonio.

C'mmon, Dream ALWAYS plays Shaq well. Even early season, when he couldn't get up the court, I remembered he played and held Shaq to less than 22 or something. Maybe 18 pts? Something like that. Then there's Webber, easily winning his one-on-one against Ho Grant. Cato coming off the bench and blocking a few shots? Hakeem/Webber vs. Shaq/Ho Grant?
    Mobley/Francis vs. Kobe/Fisher? Rick Fox?

    I'll take our chances.

I gotta ask, where will teams go? Inside or outside? They can't double team, EVERYONE will burn them.

Imagine Richard Jefferson or Dan Langhi or Shan Battier or even Walt Williams draining open 3's? Getting SO many open cause of Francis/Mobley/Webber/Olajuwan.

Only thing in our way is Webber. Signing Webber is the key. If we sign Webber, we'll lose Shandon, so we'll draft a SF (hopefully packaging all 3 picks for a much higher one). Then Hakeem will see that all this squad needs is a Center, with leadership and experience.

But if Webber declines, we'll re-sign Shandon, re-sign Mo, re-sign moochie, and draft 2 players.

    It's a win-win situation.

Let's just hope we can get Webb and still keep The Dream.

What about signing Web and then do a sign and trade for Antonio Davis? I know that would be a best case scenario and prob not likely, but would that be possible?

The only thing we can really offer is Shandon. Other than that, we have Cato and Wiz. But only a team with absolutely NO center (not Toronto) wouild take cato, and Wiz would be a small time acquisition, like a sixth man that can spark rallies with 3-pointers.

What could we get for an overpayed Shandon, and overpayed Cato, and an overpayed Williams?

Let's say Shan wants 7mill, Cato makes 6(?), and Wiz makes 5 at least.

    18 MILLION in salary.

I'd love to have Croshere (off the bench), bender and a 1st round pick, but the slaries are STILL way off.

I'm not a huge Croshere fan, but I concede that, off the bench, in every game, he'd create a mismatch with either the SF or the PF, so it would make him very effective.

Indiana wanted Shandon before, and Miller isn't getting too young, so they could really use him. They need a C (O'neil can play PF just as well), and they can use a pure-shooting 3.

As long as Kobe doesn't request a trade the Lakers will be the best team. SA is a close second.
ALso I think Dream signing a new agent makes it impossible to have both C-Webb & Dream.
Cato sucks, don't count on him stopping Mark Eaton much less Shaq. Yes I know he played well against LA once in his first season with the Rockets but most times he is dominated by the worst the NBA has to offer.

Francis-Cat-Webber does make us a playoff team but LA has the best post player and the best guard on their team.

    A team consisting of:

    Francis
    Mobley
    Half decent SF
    Webber
    Hakeem

would be better than the Spurs.

The Lakers would be their only competition.

It would be nice if you had Webber and Davis in your front court.
