Ok. It's almost sure that DA is coming to town. Now we have bunch of guards and most of them are dual guard type such as jon barry, bob sura, mike james, david wesley, and DA. Who shoud be our starting? and do we need to trade out any of them? if we need, who will be?

Knowing JVG the starters will be people that have proven themselves to him.

    Sura, Wesley, T-Mac, Jho(if healthy),Yao

I dont think Jhoward will start over Swift because Swift is younger, somewhat better, and Jhoward has health problems and maybe mike james will start. I wonder if anderson will crack the starting line up. Wesley is getting old and anderson could take the starting sg spot.

Swift will start. JVG wanted him on the team and got him.

And it's tough to say who'll start because I still believe we have a trade in the works somewhere (I can only hope, anyway). Our backcourt is way too jammed up.

I coulda swore those all applied for Yao and Cato, when Yao first came to the rockets.

But alas, it was KC starting at first...

IMO, all depends on the trainin camp

My guess is it will be James. Especially if those T-Mac not liking him rumors were true. Plus it would be harder to trade Sura with his back problems. Someone might take Wesley as well.

If we do make any trades i would expect them to be for draft picks since our roster is already full.

But that was with Rudy. We all know that JVG's m.o. is defense. When it was Cato vs. Motay for the starting spot, JVG went with the better defensive player.

The one chance that Juwan has, is the fact that he knows the system. That may prevent JVG from going to Stro right away. But Stro's role on defense isn't that hard. Just cut off penetration and rotate to the open shooters.

IMO the starting back court will become Sura if healthy and Derek Anderson - I think he will crack the starting rotation. I think Wesley is a backup - when we can match him up with small - slow guards. Wesley should be traded before the trade deadline in February-5 mil per year.

James will continue to be the backup. I did not know TMAc wanted him gone - news to me. We cannot afford James after this contract is over anyway- so he may be traded by the trade deadline.

    Back Court- Anderson / Sura.

We need to make a trade in order to trim our roster. If we can package Wesley+ player/s for a pure PG ot Tma's backup...I want Head to have role in our system and I think Baxter should be added...

I agree - need a true point guard-someone like Dan Dickau for NO - good play maker.

Package Wes and some of the expiting contracts if you can get a taker.....

Cato started what? something like 15 games maybe?

Yao did not even make it to the Rockets before they finished camp and only made it in time for the last three pre-season games. Yao had never played one ounce of basketball on this level and Rudy T was coaching...not JVG.

There is no question you are comparing apples to oranges here.
