I've got a laptop that is able to see networks and connect but once it is connected it get stuck on identifying and never fully connects where a user can use the Internet. Things I have done to check it: 1. Attempted to connect via wired and receive the same result. 2. Attempted to connect to 2 other networks. 3. Ran virus/malware//spyware software and removed any found threats. (System recently had Win 7 Home Security 2012 trojan removed). 4. The main network I am trying to connect to has a DVR, PS3, Xbox 360, microcell, various smartphones, other PCs/laptops, tablets, etc. all connected or have successfully been connected to it. 5. Disabled then enabled the wireless/wired adapters. 6. System restart and system restore Any other suggestions to try? TIA.....
reset winsock Run this in your command prompt netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt reboot computer, see if it helps
Also, make sure any proxies haven't been set. Go to internet explorer, tools, internet options, connection, go to LAN settings, and make sure it's set to automatically , and also make sure the check for proxy isn't checked. Also, open run box, type in "ncpa.cpl" , find your connection, right click it and hit either repair, or diagnose. Believe it or not, Windows will sometimes tell you what it is.
