Just thought the Gizmondo story is fascinating -- although a crappy situation for people who were associated with it. http://wired.com/wired/archive/14.10/gizmondo.html
LOL- They only know half of the story.....I could tell you much more than what is in that article....... It took me 6 months to recover from that episode in my life, and I am just now starting my new company. Nothing like busting your butt for something you believe in only to find out that really what you were doing was inadvertantly helping crooks rip off investors. Then having to tell friends that had been working with you for more than 7 years that the company was going under, and that there was nothing you could do about it. I had 280 developers working for me, in 3 countries, and I will be happy to share a lot of the cool stuff we were doing, we were building Captain Kirk's communicator. Even today, I use a Gizmondo as a GPS/Sat Nav device in my car....it ROCKS. On my giz I have : The movie Saw The entire US GPS map 20 MP3s 10 Gizmondo games All on an SDram card.....it is pretty neat. And don't get me started on the Giz Widescreen which had a flip up camera for hand held Video conferencing, or Wi-fi connectivity so you could have a FREE interenet cell phone on you at ALL times. Plus a 5mg pixel digital camera, touch screen for PDA applications, TV hookups to play in HDTV....128 mg Ram...yadddaa...yadddaaa...yadddaaaa.... Oh and lastly, please do not mention the 613,350 shares of stock I had which were trading at $35 a piece in Feb '05.....too bad they were restricted and I could not sell them..... Oh, well, I am up in Chicago at High Voltage software, and think I might do something with them involving my new company. Stay tuned...... DD
Is anybody else getting an annoying flash pop up that does not have a n "X" or "Close" button that blocks the top right corner of the first paragraph? What kind of moron puts in a pop up ad that permenantly blocks the content that your patrons originally came to the site for?
613,350 shares of stock I had which were trading at $35 a piece equals $21,467,250. wow. i'm not trying to throw more salt on the wound, but damn...that's a pretty good chunk of money
