finished on Wednesday, drank heavily since then, driving to Breckenridge tomorrow, then head back to Houston on Sunday. But I get a month off, not just 2 weeks
Yeah I get a month off too Going out of town this coming week but will be back for the Rockets season to start! Feels good man.
I'm not a student, but I'm on vacation from 2 days ago to January 3rd. Yeehaw. I just wish it wasn't raining every other day and colder.
I'm not in school, but today is my last day of work for the rest of the year. Saved my last 2 weeks vacation until now so I could be off (and get off) with my wife, who is a teacher. I'm sure you will all be glad to know that today around 4pm will be my last post here until 2012! Unless Sam Houston wins tonight, that is.
Community college instructor. I have a month off. I'm fortunate that my husband can set his own schedule. We are spending the entire month out of town at friends' and parents' houses. We spend enough time where we live already during the school year. This is why I love my job.
I moved back down here for my new job in June and I wasn't eligible for vacation until now. I'm still trying to pin down the monthly routine so I don't feel like taking the week-and-a-half off I'm due, but I am taking a day off on Monday to either get my first name changed on my Social Security card (to match my birth certificate), try to do some administrative stuff at U of H (I'm taking some math and science requirements there for an online second degree program I'm doing out of state) or have an office-based, industry-related appointment of some kind. The irony is, at my old job, I used to love the days or weeks before the holidays. The job had some set processes that ran at certain times of the day; so there was a lot of down time in between, and when everyone wasn't in the office and our shippers weren't doing daily deals it just got a lot more laid back and social between the few people that were there. Plus I was up north in a fairly small city, so looking out the window at the tree-lined streets in the winter (at least for a native Texan) was pretty cool.
clocking out until January 3rd! going to travel to Baltimore, Houston, and back to California with the new wife.
Finished my last final yesterday. I got 2 hours of total sleep throughout the week so I slept 12 hours straight in my first day off. Feels gooood.
I took a 90 day leave of absence from work (starting this week) to travel around Pakistan, India, Tibet, and Nepal.
Went to Pakistan last summer for the 1st time. Definitely something to get used to. Too hot, and the electricity would turn on and off all the time. Which states did you visit? I went to Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad.
I'm in Lahore now. This is only my third time here, but my first time in the winter (summers in Lahore are brutally hot). Right now the weather is perfect, it's low 70s during the day and 50s at night. Might go to Islamabad to visit family next week, never been to Karachi.
