The Rockets have really struggled this year on the road, but it seems they are finally beginning to understand how to win in a hostile environment. 3 out of the last 4, and the loss was due to an overzealous call against Ming in the Madsen affair. I think we may actually make the playoffs, if they continue to gel. Also, isn't it funny that Cuttino plays better AFTER the trade deadline. Sometimes I think Rudy should tell his players that he is NOT shopping them, that way they would not worry about it so much. Clearly Cat was worried about it. DD
I'll admit it's encouraging to see them win on the road.If they play smarter then things will get easier.Rudy and the guys have their work cut out for them.
I like it, I like it a lot. The boys are coming together, if we polish off this 3 game trip at 3-0, I think we can take SA next Sunday and get on a nice roll. I remember when I didn't have cable back when I was a kid and the road games where the only ones I got to watch. Good Times.
Sonny, We have to get on a roll, every other team in the playoff race has had one....it is our turn now. DD
What's encouraging is that right now is do or die time, down the stretch. Remember two seasons ago, eyeing the playoffs as a young team, we definitely showed heart and determination geting as close as we did to a playoff spot. They make it hard to win with unintelligent play but they show tons of heart. Can only assume and hope one of these days the intelligence will match the heart. Keep it up Rockets....it's Clutch City time!
Yep, this team is relaxing now and playing with a little more fire late. I would like them to jump on teams early though and keep on them, but lets keep winning. And this team is beating some really good teams on the road, if the Rockets win 2 of the next 3 they will be a in serious control of their own fate, up 2 games on the Suns, and technically 3 because of the tie breaker because I think Milwaukee will beat the Suns tomorrow. Now is the time to make a run, the Rockets could go a long way towards clinching a playoff berth the next 2 weeks. Funny that Jeff made a thread wondering what was wrong with Yao. I saw Sportscenter last night and saw Mobley jumping on Yao's back at the end celebrating a win, so the answer to Jeff's question is obvious, Jeff is paranoid and seeing things! Seriously, it looks like Cat was worried about being traded. Cat obviously loves it here big time, taking less money to be here, adjusting his game to be here, nearly having a mental breakdown when it was rumored he was on the block, hopefully he has relaxed completely now that the deadline is past.
??? I don't understand that. Rudy and the Rockets organization said they were going to stay put unless a deal was offered that was too good to pass. They wanted Mo T out of there but w/ his contract, no one wants him. The 2nd option was Moochie. The 3rd was Cat and he was well wanted around the league. The trade offers weren't good enough to accept to get rid of a nice player in Cuttino.
Did you watch the broadcast of yesterday's game vs. Boston? The "question of the game" was pretty much, "Why can't the Rockets win on the road?" I was quite surprised to hear Bill Worrell respond with, "Get better players." Whether or not he was joking, I was stunned when he said that. Calvin Murphy gave the more rehearsed, "Mental preparation" answer. There have been exceptions on both sides, but to me we've pretty much looked like a playoff team at home and a lottery team on the road. I hope we continue winning on the road as we have lately, though, 'cause dang we sure have enough away games in this part of the schedule!
I am happy for the win last night. But we still do not play smart. We cannot be lucky all the time like last night. I see a lot of fans on this forum rejoicing but the way played last night - team concept and discipline wize - we should have been handily. That style of play is a recipe for disaster but thank goodness Phoenix is not helping their own cause. I see the bad habits creeping back but oh well what can I do from here. Kudos to the Rox for the big win, but as for me and my house I will NEVER be satisfied until DUMB basketball is eradicated for good.
i guess i read the thread that maybe we can win all 5 games on the road. but i forget which thread. who did it?... A-TRAIN...somebody else? but last night's game almost break my heart... anyway,i believe you guys predication. it looks pretty right....
Yeah he was worried about it, but it's in the past... He just needs to play smart and get the ball to Yao or anyone else that is open...Stop being a ball hog...
Yep. I think after we lost to Cleveland, and Cat was really down, and he had been playing like crap, and, typically, ignoring a certain 7'5" Chinese guy. He seemed to understand that he'd been screwing up. But now the cloud is gone. Keep it up, Cat. P.S. By the way, DaDakota: I'm glad you were wrong in your prediction of this game's outcome.
