I haven't been to any sites to download music in awhile. Is WinMX still considered by some as the best site for music these days? os
For me it is. I use it to get mp3s and many of the mp3s I want I can find at a higher bit rate/quality.
How do I use WinMX? THat thing looks complicated. It only downloads at 3kbps or whatever it is, but I have a cable modem.
That probably has more to do with who you are downloading from and how much they are doing in the way of file transfers and web browsing at the time than it does with the software. Essentially, you install the program, let it find the servers, then click the search tab and search away. It looks confusing at first, but it's really not.
I think i am going to go back to Kazaa. THat was easier, but reading threads about having shareware, i am hesitent to go download that program again.
afraid of shareware and spyware? disable them... http://www.lavasoft.de download a program called Ad-Aware... it will find all the spyware on your system and give you the option to disable it...you'll be surprised at how much you may already have on your system
I use Kazaa Lite - it's a spyware free build of Kazaa. Not too shabby. Has the old Morpheus interface, I always thought WinMX was so-so.
I am SEVERELY tired of the radio, and I'm too poor too buy CDs (or food). The only thing I can afford is this free Roadrunner, but the crap firewalls me from really accessing kazaa or grokster or winMX. What the hell are the alternatives that can be used with any consistency? Are there any audio only p2p's? I'm not really looking for porno or software, so I have no use for the complete file sharing experience. DAMN AUDIOGALAXY, WHY DID YOU LEAVE US???
I only have it for the rest of the month because I worked for Time Warner, but I don't anymore. I REALLY don't want to be paying for it either
In Austin, TimeWarner has Roadrunner for $29.95 for 6 months with free installation. I'm thinking of having them yank mine out and have one of my kids order it. (LOL!) You could do something like that if you had a roommate.
