Anyone got the link to the thread for how to get rid of those annoying messages on XP?

Or, worse case... mind telling us again?

    Thanks :)

    which annoying messages?

there are several..I hate the "Do you want to report to Microsoft" message that always comes up if you have to end task on an app.

Just remember that I think you are disabling some other stuff too.

    Nothing important, however.

What's worse is when Spyware is running and taking 98% of your computer usage and you don't even know about it until 4 months later.

Man I LOVE XP!!! no really, I do. It works great now.

AFAIR, The Xp messenger service also is used for accepting broadcast messages on a network. For example, if you were on a company network, and the admin needed to send out a net-wide alert, they could conceivably send it out and have it accepted by all machines that were running the messenger service.

I dont disable it on mine, and have never had any problems with it causing any security problems(via spyware, etc) but then again, my firewall/router arrangement is pretty secure.
