Man, I feel bad for Ming. First of all he has to live in a new country, get used to new customs, food, way of life, etc. Plus, on top of this, it seems as if his teamates to be are nothing but a bunch of 5 year olds clowns.

I am all for drafting Ming, but he could be walking into a landmine in Houston. For Ming's sake, I hope that people are just overblowing and exaggerating what is being posted about Steve, otherwise things could get painful for Ming.

It might be better for Ming if he were to go to a team whose players would welcome him with open arms, will help him develop, get used to living in the US, and become his friend. Unfortunately, the current Rockets seem incapable of doing this.

It could be very lonely for Ming in Houston. Hopefully, winning will cure everything.

I think Francis is the only one showing negative feelings towards acquiring Yao Ming, right. Cuttino Mobley has said he wants Lamar Odom instead, but has not said anything negative.

If anyone tells you men don't get worked up over soap operas, just send them the link to this thread.

Rudy and CD will see that Ming is welcome on the team and by his new team mates. what player [other then Hakeem] has ever ran the team, coachs, management down in the media and public and stayed on the team, normally the team never says a word until the trade takes place. If this becomes a problem and we draft Ming he will have team mates that want to play with him. Point guards are easier to find then 7'5" centers.

Hopefully, what is being reported from Steve is not true. But there have been consistent reports about Steve not only disagreeing with drafting Ming but getting pissed off about it.

From all reports, Ming has skills, is a good guy, is a team player, gets along with everyone and has the desire to improve. So while there might be reason to disagree in drafting him, there is no reason to get all pissed off ala Steve.

If Steve can influence the rest of the team into not liking Ming, for Mings sake, I hope he ends up elsewhere.

I hear what your saying but Steve is only one person. Lets not forget that Glen Rice, Maurice Taylor, and Cuttino Mobley have their own opinions and feelings. I have a feeling that they could give a rats ass about Stevies highschool like insecurities and the improving of his game. Rice and Mobley will probably be the first to take Ming in and treat him like a brother. Mobley seems to have a cool, confident, and reassuring way about himself, so dont expect him to stand in Stevies corner and isolate Ming.

But I do share your same concerns. Being a 7'5 guy in a foreing country is hard enough, especially off the basketball court. Hes going to need all the helping hands and listening ears he can get.

Speaking of Mobley, if anybody can straighten Steve out besides Rudy, it is him. Remember, Cat's last quote about Ming was that if he can come in and help right away, he is all for it. Steve might be upset about ONE player that is being brought in, but why would he want to leave his TWO friends, Cat and Mooch over that?
