Yes, because becoming an All-Star starter is only a matter of getting the most votes. Until the NBA changes that, all talk of "deserving" an All-Star berth is silly.

How would I know if I'll vote for him as all-star? The season hasn't started yet. I'd like to think people's votes have something to do with how the guy plays.

It has nothing to do with how anybody plays. The all star games are a popularity contest. Always have been and always will be until they change the rules. This notion of deserving an All Star berth is an oxymoron.

Yi is asian nobody vote for him for anything. Because he's not good. He's asian, I'm asian, and I don't watch him play nor I follow him unless he starts to ball. This is the NBA after all, popularity only comes when you play good ball.

People don't become popular unless they play well.

They certainly won't make the All Star Game unless they are halfway decent.

Agreed. But doesn't change the fact that it is still a popularity contest.

The only way I vote for Lin or any Rockets player is if they are truly deserving of the roster spot. If he performs like an All-Star then I will put my vote in.

No disrespect to Jose Altuve, but if the Astros are allowed to claim him as an All-Star this year then I see no issues with the Rockets being able to get their best player in the game this next year even if its based somewhat on his international popularity.

There was one year where Yi was 3rd in forwards in the East, just like Bruce Bowen was in the West. Ricky Rubio was 3rd in the West this past season.

What the hell does it mean to perform like an All Star. LOL. The All Star games have an always will be a popularity contest. Do people not get that. Argghhhh. Telling someone that they have to perform like and All Star is meaningless.
