As much as I hate the Lakers, I want them to Steamroll whoever they play this season. I think the better they play, the more impressive this year's team will be looked back on. I really think that the better they do, the better we come out looking. This could be huge with free agency. Thoughts?
I see where you're coming from. I'd like them to get to the Finals in less than 7 games, and I think they will, but then get blasted by Cleveland.
It doesn't matter if the Lakers win or not people will say what we did is impressive, and a few years down the road people won't remember what we did. I really don't care who wins, I'm just pulling for this to be a great series.
Like Shaud said, in a couple years, only Rockets fans will remember what this team did. But everyone will remember it if Kobe never wins a ring without Shaq, and that's what I want.
What we did was impressive against ANY playoff team. We had two all-stars and another key player out, which included both centers. We had nobody worth noting that was taller than 6'8", and our team was being led by a 2nd year point guard with a quarter of a season as a starter under his belt. The fact that we did it against a team with arguably the best player in recent memory and arguably the greatest coach of all-time is even more impressive.
As much as I'm not a laker fan, I'm even less of a nugget fan. And I think the nugget bandwagon is just ridiculous. I'd like to see the lakers roll through the rest of their opponents thus revealing the true quality of our team.
The Lakers are in for a rough time with Denver. They'll get toasted by Cleveland if they can somehow make it that far.
not really the lakers are a supremely talented and arrogant team from the top down to the bottom. i can never find myself openly rooted for them. esp after that quote from fisher after the game saying that he always respects his opponent and has no extra respect for what the rockets did. just hope that denver can go out and win one of the first two games in LA to make it a series
Haven't you learned by now? The media will never give us credit. If the Lakers do happen to steamroll the Nuggets, they'll just talk about the renewed intensity the Lakers discovered. They won't even blink an eye towards the efforts of the Rockets.
If the Cavs and Lakers meet up the Cavs definitely won't toast the Lakers, it would probably be a close series. I think the Lakers would beat the Cavs in the finals though.
Where is the "Hell No" choice? We don't need the Lakers to win to impress people of our accomplishment. That's just loser's thinking. I am extremely proud of the Rockets no matter what the Lakers do from this point on. I just want the Lakers to be humiliated as badly as possible.
No one will remember this Rockets season... unless next season we roll to the championship behind All-Star Aaron Brooks. Then people will point to this season as the harbinger.
WTF do you guys mean by this " No one will remember this team " BS statement? I know I will remember it forever and so will other true Rockets fans. If by No one you mean ESPN, the general media and the casual fan then so be it. This has been the most memorable season since Hakeem and Clyde rejoicing at the Summit in 95. With that said the rest of the Playoffs is dead to me. College Football hurry up!
Doesn't matter what we did against them, we won't be remembered for anything this season other than giving them a nice run. I hope they lose and I could care less what they do.
I thought it was pretty obvious by the "People won't remember what the Rockets did"we meant people outside of Rocket fans.
I'd argue that 97 was more memorable than this season. In fact, I'm sure of it. This one comes right behind it, though.
