I'm not gonna; use T-Mac's absence as a excuse that Rockets will finally get out of the 1st round but I think Rockets will win against the Jazz in 6 games at most because unlike the previous meetings in the playoffs.. Rafer was guarding Deron.. having Ron Artest on Deron especially during close games will be beneficial to the Rockets if they eventually collide with the Jazz in the playoffs.

Goodluck when/if you face them. :)

Can you elaborate why? having Ron to guard Deron in close games could be a big thing.. what hurt the most when the Rockets faced the Jazz the last 2 years in the playoffs was that Deron was usually operating down the stretch in the 4th quarter without having any player switch out at him with a good defender.

You crazy, Artest can't guard speedy players. He left Paul Millsap blow by him easily.

Tony Parker also lets other players blow by him easily at times so what? you must remember that once the playoffs start its a whole new ball-game.. new adjustments and the game becomes half-court once could become a benefit situation especially with having 2 great defenders in Ron and Shane.

I feel like i've seen a few threads vaguely similar to this recently. Just a few.

    But I'll humor you.

Cocky, no, but confident that we have a real chance.

Also, I could care less what any of us think, but only what the guys on the team think.

Ron Artest doesn't gaurd D Will, Brooks/Lowry do. Our biggest problem is their PnR and their bigs with the range they have. We would rather play Lakers. I wouldnt mind playing the Jazz in a later round though.

The biggest key in the series IMO is gonna be Scola vs Okur.. also not having Boozer dominate like he did against the Rockets in the 07' Playoffs would be a big thing for the Rockets.. he will get his 20-10 but the most Important thing is how he gets it.

I agree with LP, if Deron starts lighting us up in the playoffs, RA will put Artest on him for short periods of time.

Ok so Artest guards Dwill then who does Aaron Brooks and Lowry guard? Pau Millsap?

AK since he doesn't have much of jump shot so he won't be able to shoot over AB and Lowry.

AK would score 50pts if such short players were guarding him.

Confident no. But I don't care about the 1st round any more than I did the 2nd round in '93.

You win or you go home. Match-up problems always exist, but I'm not going to get all excited about beating the Jazz (if we do in the 1st round).

If you go to the Conference finals (and haven't been there before) then that usually means your team has improved in several ways. And with AB, Lowry, Wafer, Landry and Scola that would definitely raise my expectaions about next year.

i'd rather have us kick the laker's ass in the first round and then go on to sweep everyone else.

As much as I used to like AK, AK couldn't score 50 point if no one was guarding him. He's an athletic Ryan Bowen.

Being Athletic has nothing to do with it. AK could do a lot. It isn't needed for him to do anything anymore...Put a short player on him and he will stay in the lane and score right over them.

If we maintain home court advantage against the Jazz, we can beat them. We just need to keep playing great at home.
