I hadnt seen this question asked earlier. Yao hasn't been the center of controversy since he was drafted which makes me think he'll conform to the policy but then again his personality and casual style is exactly what David Stern is trying to get rid of. So will he comply with or defy dress code?

Yeah, he probably will. But he's not black, so who knows.

I don't, but since there was a thread for one superstar, it was only fair to get the opinions on the other.

Man, this is the third poll today. I was going to post (what I think is) an important one but I'll wait until Monday night.

No. Too much of a by the rules, respectful guy whether he believes it is correct or not.

This is as bad as the TMAC one.

Why would our stars worry about the dress code when they will be playing?!

    Stop jinxing our players!

Yes they will be playing, but the dress code is also enforced when you arrive and leave the arena as well as for post and pre-game commentaries.......correct?

I would be more worried about T-Mac violating the code than Yao.
I would hope all our players comply.
I dont want any un-needed distractions.
Im sure JVG feels this way as well being that he is buddy buddy with the league office.

I can't see Yao giving up his hip-hop lifestyle to appease the man. He'll keep it real.

I thought the dress code was just for black players?

Even if Yao violates it, I doubt he gets any punishment. Yao has too many shirts to feed and babies to sell.

JVG will certainly violate the dresscode but Stern will let it slide as Jeff's ability to look like he just woke up in his clothes is a genetically inborn trait.

Lucky he is rich... must cost him a small fortune to get a nice custom suit.

Where is the "The thread rating says it all in this case about the state of the thread starter's brain when he started this thread" option?
