I think we'll do quite well... they'll try to take away Yao's game but others will be wide open. JVG will spread out the floor.
Okur and Boozer are playing better D on Yao then anyone, I've ever seen. Yes Yao will do amazing in the next series.
Nope, in fact he could potentially looks worse. We'll be playing the Warriors if we move on. Think about it, faster and smaller guys swarming on Yao like mice. Yao is too slow and soft to take advantage of the small guys.
bingo. i've completely lost faith in yao's ability to punish opposing teams on the offensive end... especially smaller teams, teams where he SHOULD have no problem back his man down to the low block... but instead plays like a damn nancy and gets shoved around like a rag doll or settles for the 12-15' fadeaway.
the last time we played GS in April, Yao only had 9 pts on 2-4 shooting. He only had 4 attempts (no Tmac). They need to get him the ball.
We deserve to lose to the Jazz with so many jinx threads out there. With that being said, Yao will be the deciding factor if we can beat the Warriors or not. I personally feel they will take him out of the game like Phoenix does, but I hope I'm wrong and he figures out a way to dominate.
Al Harrington killed Yao last time they played... that will be a very tough series for Yao (assuming we win game 7)
why are we talking about the Warriors? they did their job by advancing first... rockets have the game of their franchise on the line and we are talking about matching up against the Warriors?
I think Yao will have some trouble against the high-flying GSW. They are a fast, VERY FAST team. Playing GS is like playing Phx's little brother. I am not optimistic about the next round
Yao domonated the warrior, then DN changed his game plan. If I were JVG, just get the F$&$ing ball to Yao, ignore the TOs. 10 TOs and 10 scorings, still 50 %. I believe we still have HCA, right? JVg will do better than AJ on defense.
Dirk is a little b**** and should be getting ripped but AJ needs to take more heat for their loss because he just went along and played Warrior basketball and refused to slow it down. If you watch basketball you knew going into the series the key to beating the Warriors is having a good low post threat and not letting them run like crazy. The Mavs don't have that nor were they disaplined at all.
i think he could potentially look worse though i think our team is capable of beating them anyways. he looks slow on single coverage with okur, if he doesn't wake up he'll never score on the 3 man trap that golden state's going to throw on him. he did however look fantastic in the suns game before the end of the season so i'm confused as to what his problem is right now. he looks like he physically can't move as fast as he could MOST of the time. i don't want to jump the gun though, i'm pretty nervous about saturday.
