http://www.nba.com/playerfile/rafer_alston/ His fg% is above 40%, how long will it last. Looking at how he did today, it will go back down once the stats update. But will we see it again?
We have some of the worst free throw shooters in the league as far as shooting form goes. I didn't even have to explain Chuck Hayes, but when you see Bonzi and even T-Mac on the line, it seems like they are scared to shoot. And Bonzi looks like he is too weak and is using all his strength to toss the ball up. We need to practice some FTs!
And it seems (though this is way too early to say so) that I am being proved correct. He's a streaky shooter; we go through this every year. He starts hitting crazy shots, and the Ralston Bandwagon starts plodding along. And then he goes ice cold, and the Ralston Haters come out of the woodwork. Whatever happened to the Ralston Realists?
I think this can be said for almost anyone. Rafer's streaks are longer than most though. That's why you look at averages. Anyone that thought Rafer would dramatically improve or drop his FG% is simply mistaken. At the beginning of the season, I stated that his averages are higher, he'll go on a streak, and he'll promptly follow that with poor or on par shooting. Players are what they are. Commend them when they are doing well, and hope they pull out when they are in a funk.
