As of today he has 28 touchdowns through 7 games. He still has 9 games and a bye week left. He is on pace to throw 66 touchdown passes for the year. While that seems quite unlikely and you figure he has to cool down a little sometime, just a little... But after 7 games he looks incredible. Breaking the record and throwing for over 50 touchdowns seems inevitable to me. Now that he finally has some top tier offensive talent around him he even looks better than Manning to me, the 3 rings help his case also. So do who here will take the over/under on whether he will throw for 49 or more. I gotta give credit to Ziggy, i stole this idea from him another thread. Im off to watch the Steelers game.
To play at that level for the whole season is almost an impossible feat. However, I do agree that this is most likely the best Patriots ever assembled. Still its more a marathon than a sprint. They may stumble some time, Brady included. Although I think it will be more likely their own mistakes that will cost them than another team beating them.
hahaha holy crap i didnt realize that..... I know lol, but my point is they still have that bye week to rest and get what little problems they have sorted out.
Moss made Cunningham and Culpepper into studs. Brady was a stud before Moss got there, so Moss might turn Brady into a God. NFL MVP for sure.
He is in a pathetic Division He will probably end up Dropping 30 TDs on the JETS/ DOLFINS/ BILLS ALONE! Rocket River
I think he will break it. He's in position and pace to do so. What is more impressive??? That NE has not really played anyone "impressive", including the Cowboys (6-1)?? Compare with other "good" teams right now. Dallas (6-1): 5-2 NYG 0-7 MIA 3-4 CHI 0-6 STL 2-4 BUF 7-0 NE 2-4 MIN ------- 19-27 opponents' record New England: 1-6 NYJ 3-3 SD 2-4 BUF 2-4 CIN 3-3 CLE 6-1 DAL 0-7 MIA -------- 17-28 opponents' record Indianapolis 5-0*: 2-4 NO 4-2 TEN 3-4 HOU 2-3 DEN^ 4-3 TB 4-1 JAX* -------- 21-17 opponents' record (^ game in progress) (* before Monday Night's game) I think that by the time they play good teams, they will be tested deeply. In short, I believe he WILL break the record, but it's not really impressive... look at whom he played against. With as much pain as this is going to give me, I'd like to say that Romo is more impressive right now... RR, don't forget the JETS, too. Rockbox, Cunningham??? He was on his way out, man.
Tom Brady is a bad ass. He would already have been to 50+ if he wouldn't hand it off the whole second half.
As long as Payton throws for 200 yards and 2 TDs......that is fine with me....he could even do 250 yards and 1 TD..... Or 300 and ZERO touchdowns.....but get me 12 points....PUUUHHHHLLLEAAASSEE ! DD
I think Brady is the best QB ever. When his career is over, I think he'll be remembered ahead of all of the great ones.
He seems to have more arm strength this year. I don't remember him making so many long throws before. Is he juicing?
The difference is that he finally has receivers who can actually stretch the field. It's hard to throw deep very much when your receivers are led by Jabar Gaffney, Reche Caldwell, and 55-year-old Troy Brown. It's amazing how much Brady has already accomplished in his career with the completely pedestrian talent he's had around him on offense (until this season). Now that he has elite surrounding talent (much like Manning has had for almost a decade), I agree there's a legit chance he goes down as the greatest ever.
