I hadnt seen this question asked earlier. Tmac hasn't been the center of controversy since he left Orlando which makes me think he'll conform to the policy but then again his personality and his hip hop style clothing is exactly what David Stern is trying to get rid of. So will he comply with or defy dress code?
Hold on. I'm pretty sure they said that T-mac was going to play. I couldn't care less about what he wears as long as it's a Rockets jersey.
I am not sure, but I would be extremely disappointed in him if he decides to defy league rules on such a non-issue. As the season starts, we need no distractions from the actual games and the task at hand. With that said, I am confident T-Mac is mature enough to avoid having himself (and consequently his team) penalized for something as silly as not conforming to a dress code.
Your statement is misinformed and doesn't bear any significance to the Rockets. David Stern is not trying to "get rid of his personality". How the heck do you do that?
I don't know how you dress but I definetley show my pesronality through my sense of fashion. I don't really know how you say I'm misinformed for voicing my opinion. And I dont know how this does not bear any significance to the rockets since we are talking about Tracy McGrady, Starting SF for the Houston Rockets.
TMac and Yao were in civilian clothes earlier this preseason and TMac was wearing slacks and a collard shirt. Bottom line he looked to be in compliance, I think the biggest problem players have is the fact that they do not want to be told what to wear all of a sudden.
I voted for the third option, simply because I wanted to imply that T-Mac is stupid. Oh wait, the thread starter implied that.
Yeah, I thought so too but this article says otherwise: http://www.thenewstribune.com/sports/sonics/story/5263107p-4777466c.html "At the Sonics’ exhibition game on Monday, for instance, Houston’s Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming did not play. McGrady wore a brown sweater, beige cargo pants and designer casual shoes, while Yao wore jeans, a long-sleeve dress shirt and tennis shoes. Under the new rules, both players would be in violation. The league did not say what the punishment would be for violating the rule. It is just gonna depend on how knit picky stern is gonna get. I think that if he's gonan enforce it he'll have a strict interpretation of the rules because stern doesn't want people thinking he's playing favorites.
I'm not implying that at all. I made that option because I thought some of the rules of the dress code seemed vague ie. wearing "dress jeans". Alot of players have this concern as well...
Yah, seriously, I don't think we should worry about that during game time because T-Mac will be playing, barring injuries.
