the whole "i cant do the stuff i am used too" and after the gsw game "i am suprised i was able to do that" is a growing concern,he's 27 not 37. you would never hear clyde say that back in the day. tmac needs to look int he mirror and say "i'm one of the best one the planet,i am tmac, lets go do this"

sure he's helping by being a playmaker, but as many have said he need more if we are gonna go farther. hope he finds that old swagger. we go as far as tmac takes us.

yeah, tmac needs ot wake up and stop believing this nonsense.

i'm sure he feels much older than 27. he has had a lot of injuries and has a lot of miles on his body already. i believe that, but lets not go overboard with it. the guy isn't in his twilight as he would have you believe.

Yao appeared to be even older than Mutombo last night.

Tmac's comments this season have definitely got me concerned. He seems a little too willing to take the backseat and cast off the responsibility of being the main man. All his talk about feeling old and such tell me a lot about his mindset and attitude. Tmac's one of the most talented players in the league, but I really do believe that his mental game and competitiveness is what keeps him from fully acheiving what we all know he is capable of. He was making excuses for Kobe when Kobe wasn't making excuses for himself. I'm sure glad we have better role players and Yao is becoming the player he is because at this point, I really don't think we can rely on Tmac to lead us to the title.

When did he say that last night? Did I miss it? Tracy's been looking a lot more like his old self recently, in my opinion. When he said those things, I think it was frustration talking.

I say the coach should sit yao for a couple games, and just let tmac do everything his way, play his style, drop 50 or 60 pts on the opponents, then, tmac would get his confidence back.

Maybe he is not, at least not any more. If he says he has lost a step, I believe he has lost a step. Take the GSW game for example, which possibly is his best game so far this year, if you look at his two or three highlight dunks, the elavation was nowhere near what it was like two years ago. Being in some shooting slump is one thing, losing your athleticism is another. I believe we are seeing the latter.

When your back goes south on you, you'll understand. I'd like to know when this BBS will get rid of this idea that T-Mac can shake off degenerative discs.

People seriously need to be thankful that last year did not result in a Larry Johnson/Loy Vaught career-altering surgery for him.

Well, everybody and every body is different. Terrel Davis broke down after a few years while guys like Curtis Martin kept going strong. Looks to me like TMac has lost a step and some explosiveness.

I have to agree. It seems like with a condition like that, maybe we have to resign ourselves to the fact that he may not feel "right" every night. Thus, maybe he will be "on" some nights, and a step slow on other nights. I think his shooting might improve once he adjusts his shot to match his physical condition.

Regardless, he is still an invaluable asset to this team. As long as Yao doesn't have a rare off night on the same night that Tracy is shooting poorly (which unfortunately happened last night), the team will be all right.

Any team that has its superstar shoot 5-19 is likely to lose. If Duncan shoots 5-19, the Spurs are likely to lose. If Kobe shoots 5-19, the Lakers are likely to lose. If Lebron shoots 5-19, the Cavs are DEFINITELY going to lose.

What I'm trying to say is, I don't think the Rockets need McGrady to be 100% every night to win. If Yao plays even an average game last night, the Rockets win. Period.

With these quotes all I can think is "God, Tmac is the antithesis of Shaq!".

I believe most of us think his back is ok when he constantly has been telling everyone that it feels great and is not a problem anymore. He may not have the elevation he used to, but he's definitely exhibited enough athleticism so far to show us all what he's still capable of. It's just a matter of tmac doing it night in and night out.

He should be at his athletic peak right now. I don't buy into all the miles he's put on his body even though he came out of highschool. Michael Jordan was a monster at this age carrying every team he was on. Alot of what is going on with T-Mac is more pschycological than any thing else.

He has a problem with his back, occasionally, but he is clearly PROTECTING his back by not being aggressive.

He is pacing himself......hopefully he will snap out of it.

T mac shoots us out of games when he is missing....right now a michael red would even be better then t mac....not suggesting a trade because mac could get his stroke back, but mannn t mac is killing us when he is off.

Yeah thats what I believe too.. TMACs just pacing himself, its a long season.. But at the same time I don't think TMAC is still in his prime anymore either

Please not. Rockets need him to a playmaker to win, as he did previously. He is no longer same as before, we have to buy it. His shooting is becoming our TOs. :(

I don't mind if T-Mac paces himself and saves himself for the playoffs.
I would prefer that than to see him burn himself out early in the season.

After all, we are going to make the playoffs at a decent seed, provided Yao and company continue to play well.
