I'm really hoping this many nights off before the game will help him. I mean, he had a pretty damn good game tonight before he left.

    15 points
    6/12 FG
    1/1 3FG
    2/2 FT
    No turnovers
1 assist, rebound, block, and steal all in 20 minutes.

That's I'm referring to. Without him we couldn't handle powerful Spurs. With him we could have another 35 secs magic show.

I wonder how willing McGrady would be to play the role of instant offense off the bench? Scoring is our biggest problem most of the time. Start Bogans, let McGrady play 20 minutes (mostly with Yao on the bench), and tell him to score as much as he humanly can.

Might preserve his body while extracting from him what we need most.

the back goes out whenever he jumps/lands awkwardly. it doesn't matter how much he plays.

God I hope so. I'm hoping that these days of rest will help him a lot.

Rockets are cruising. We've beaten one of the 9 teams above .500 that we are facing inthe next couple of weeks.

    Here's to beating the rest.

If his back is stiff then he could play our Playmaker, he's the best we have and at least make a positive contibution. Only McG knows how to get Yao involved in the game without yao just standing there calling for the ball.

I know this is Heresy, big time, but I am thinking that it may be time this summer to look for a good trade for TMac. Between head, back, knees and ankles he has had a lot of down time this year. I don't know whether his back problems are chronic or not, but his head problems are. Maybe we can trade him for value in return before it becomes apparent to the rest of NBA that he is not the TMac he used to be. With Yao's emergence we cannot afford to make a misstep with MacGrady. We will be wasting Yao's prime.

In the Chron report, he said if he feels he probably couldn't play on Sunday. Which means that consider him out unless a miraculou last minute recovery takes place.

*Sigh* Have you ever thought of maybe trading the supporting cast around instead one of the two superstars?

Yao is going to be pissed off if the franchise trades away McGrady, that's for sure.

Oh yeah and we're not going to get anywhere near what McGrady is worth in a trade because there is no one better out there. Yeah, I said it. No other player in this league can mesh with Yao as well as McGrady. McGrady doesn't care about his own stats, he's not selfish, he tries to get his teammates as involved as he can and he does a damn good job of it.

If we trade McGrady away, it will be one of the biggest mistakes in this team's history.

I guarantee you McGrady would get some well needed rest and rip it up for his next team, and we'll be stuck with some crap because of it.

    DO NOT TRADE TRACY MCGRADY.

I disagree with you. Although TMAC is the ultimate teammate Yao can want, there are others that would make perfect substitutes. Look at Wade. He's unselfish, aggressive, and the perfect complimentary player to a traditional center like Shaq. If Wade was on our team, we would head to the Western Conference finals without a heartbeat. However, there's no way we can get Wade even if we tried. Miami has him locked for sure.

And also, maybe a lot of you might disagree with me, but I think some fans on this board wouldn't mind seeing Kobe come to town. Sure, he's arrogant, selfish and a known ballhog, but he's a much more aggressive player than TMAC. Yao's number might diminish a little, but with the addition of Kobe, he could make our team an instant winner. And Kobe can co-exist with another big man as can be seen with his 3 productive years playing alongside Shaq.

Two clutch classics in the making?

Lol, the bi-polar attitude of this board is astounding to me sometimes.

And one question to watashi, if there is no way we could get him, what is the point of posting it? We can't (and don't want him mind you) so what really is the point of your first paragraph? To put the doubt in people's mind that we should trade McGrady for someone else?

Fair enough. Those are some good points.

But I'm still going to say that T-Mac will be fine next season.

In fact I'm going to say it right now:

Tracy McGrady will be fine IF he gets lots of rest this offseason. I still say don't trade him, and it's not like the Rockets organization will. We'll see how it goes next season, if he's still around.

Yo man, the reason I mentined it was because ShadyMcGrady said he doesn't think there is a single player in the NBA that could substitute TMAC. I just listed Wade and Kobe as examples. Read the full post before asking moronic questions.

we are playing SA, DAL, NJ, and SA again. WE need atleast 3 to catch some ground on the teams above us. I think it will be impossible to win 3 games out of those 4. If Mcgrady plays all 4 games and yao continues to play aggresive than we can beat them all. PLEASE TMAC, GET WELL SOON

Honestly, can we trade fans here? I am really sick of those who want to trade our players here and there assuming that it was only good to the team (or the city?).

I root for Rockets because of Yao. I am happy with everything we have in hand, the players, the coaches, and even most of the Clutchfans here. I said once in another thread I am so glad that Yao was picked up by Rockets and he is so lucky that his first NBA coach was Rudy T and he had teammates like Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobley not because of their talents but the ties of brotherhood they shown to their new teammate from China.

Francis, Mobley and Cato are brothers of Yao, TMac too. TMac is the best player in this team. That means he is the best you have. "Callous" and "avarice", that's what I could only think of after reading posts like these. :(
