As the 2012-2013 season came to a close alot of our major sports teams suffered setbacks/disappointing seasons. Derrick Rose never returned, Melo still hasn't made it over the hump, Westbrook was injured, LA disappointed.. so on and so forth. But while these teams may have suffered disappointment it also set up a way for new young teams to step forward. Golden State, Indiana, Memphis, Houston..

But does it seem as though we're starting to see of a spreading of powers across the NBA? The Nets and the Knicks have made some good free agency transactions while teams like Cleveland continue to build thru the draft. The younger guys (Wall, Irving, Harden, Lillard, George, Curry) are all starting to take it to another level. The best thing is... they all play on different teams. No longer do we have to see all the best young talent gather up on one team. Every team seems like they have a nice path to their own success and young stars. Even the Bobcats (Kemba, MKG, Zeller)..

In the East, With the return of DRose to that physical Bulls team, the full roster of Brooklyn, the champion Miami Heat, Melo and the offensive juggernauts in New York, the favorite underdogs in Indiana, Detroit maybe returning to prominence, that young up and coming roster in Cleveland, and who knows what Philly Toronto.

In the West, the return of Westbrook to OKC, Harden and Howard in Houston, Golden State's eruption, San Antonio's consistency, Memphis Grizzlies tough squad, New Orleans wild card, Portland and Lilliard, Minnesota's team gaining more weapons, and of course the high flying Clippers.

I believe we're looking at one of the most entertaining and competitive seasons the NBA has ever offered.

On a side note: Who do you guys think will be our most competitive rivals?
