I know there's another thread out there but it asks "Are you rooting for the Warriors to get 73 wins" and I know my answer is HELL TO THE NAWL!

Despite my dislike for the Warriors and all things Warriors, I have no doubt in my mind that they will win 72 games and I can see them ending with 74 or 75 wins.
They are a ****ing juggernaut right now. I just don't see that many teams being able to play a perfect game against them in order to make them lose more than 10 games. (Yeah I know they still have to play the Spurs, and the Cavs-maybe w/both Kyrie and LBJ.

Anyone else thinks they break 72-10 and if so how many wins do you think they end up with?

Looking at the Warriors' schedule in December and January, their first real challenge is vs San Antonio on Jan 25. If they win all the games until then, they will start the season 44-0.

    73-9.

They wil lose to Spurs, cavs, heat, Pacers, okc all once and then 4 other random losses. They almost lost twice to the clippers and that's apparently a rivalry so the clippers will have a shot. They almost lost at home to bk, so they can have bad games at home against bad teams.

The longer this streak goes, the harder it will be. They will get everyones best shot. Everyone wants to be the first to knock them off. Plus they are the champs and most teams are motivated to try to beat the champs.

However, if they are on; it's almost impossible to beat them at this point.

This team is motivated. I think they can definitely get to 73.

As unreal as that even sounds, I see no reason why that can't or won't happen. Despite the Cavs game on Christmas.

A lot of this depends on health, one thing which made MJ and Jordanners impressive is the health of MJ, Pippen and Rodman despite heavy contact and abuse from opponents.

For GSW it depends on whether Curry's ankles holds up. Bogut and Iggy have dealt with injuries their entire careers too. If everyone is healthy I think they break the record, they are just that damn good. And I want them to break the record, you can't keep clinging on to the past.

If Cavs would have a full healthy squad, they might have a chance. But they got too many injuries.

Nothing to do with clinging to the past and all to do with not wanting the rival team to have any kind of success.
I'd root for the Rockets to break 72-10 if they were having such a season.

Currys ankles have held up nicely the last couple of seasons and their success at this point doesn't really depend on Bogut since Ezeli can fill in quite well and they are just fantastic when they go small with Draymond at the 5. Fack the Warriors, damnit!

If not, they will come very close.

They need to go 52-9 the rest of the way

As long as Curry stays healthy. If they stay in great shape, it's possible. The moment Curry can't play, they're vulnerable.

Look people, EVEN with a 21-0 start, the Warriors need to go 52-9 the rest of the way.

    52-9!!

    That is .852 basketball

That's the equivalent of going 70-12 over an 82 game season

Even with a 21-0 start, it's still astonishing how they aren't really close at all yet.

I would say it is easier to play .852 basketball, than to start 21-0. The former has been done before. The later has not been done until this year.

It's been done ONCE before, which is the same team that went 72-10.

My entire point is that despite going 21-0, which is amazing in itself, it's still a humongous task to actually finish it off and go 73-9. Like until I did the numbers I would have assumed that their remaining record could be slightly worse, but they STILL have to go .852.

straight nuts and puts into perspective how amazing the Bulls' achievement actually was.

52-9 isn't that outlandish considering what this team has been doing for more than a year now. 21-0 is huge and never been done before, every victory puts them closer to 72+, and right now there's no reason that makes me believe going 52-9 is extremely difficult for this team. You really see them losing every 6th game from now on? I surely don't.

The Bulls went 41-3 and then 31-7 to finish the season.

Just saying that the second half of the season/closing it out will be harder than the first half.

I'm just saying to keep some perspective - and going .852 over the rest of the season IS crazy. Like I said, that's the equivalent of going 70-12.

Personally as much as I hate the Warriors, I'm halfway rooting for it because it's pretty amazing to watch. It's made something worth following this regular season. but I'm not counting it as really likely yet.

If they make it 73-9 or better, they will break the record for sure.
