    Will the Rockets finally unveil their new uniforms tommarow?

    I am gussing they will, because it is media day. If they don't that wouldn't make sense.

    If they don't that means they haven't arrived in the mail yet. Remember when we were kids and if you played baseball you would have opening day before the season began, well imagine having to go to opening day and being the only team without your uniforms. That would bum the team out pretty bad. I hope the uniforms made it home by now.

    If the uniforms don't get here by the end of the season, the Rockets would just pay Reebok big $$$ to make them here in the US. I'm not worried about playing without unis. For the fans it's a different story.

    Hah. We actually got them in today.

    Except ... they only sent one pair of road shorts. (Actually, they had to jump through a number of manufacturing hoops to get us that one pair by Media Day. I'm not complaining.)

    It's enough for the photo ops, at least.

    If the uni's are in, then what's the story on getting that 3rd jersey with the word HOUSTON on it? Remember that word, HOUSTON??? Never mind that Toyota is not from our town--yet their name is plastered all over our arena, never mind that our road jersey says ROCKETS instead of HOUSTON so that they're more marketable, but do tell us if our last hope of showing some hometown pride is going to make it to the production lines.
    Personally, I feel less inclined to buy a Toyota now that they're shoving their corporate logo into an undeserved spot.

    That stuff just happens nowadays man. I agree with you pretty much, but we have to accept that money plays a big part in the NBA and even the HOUSTON Rockets. Toyota paid big money and those Houston-less jerseys will make big global money - all so that we can enjoy our team (in a roundabout way at least). Heck, maybe that big sponsorship and mass appeal will generate enough money to make Les less worried about the luxury tax, thus being able to put an even better team on the floor.

    But as far as that 3rd jersey thing goes, it won't be happening until at least next season. Some rule about how you can't come out with an alternate uni in the first year of a brand-new scheme.

    Honest to God truth, Tim...I had a dream two nights ago that the Rockets had to play their first game on the Rocket red court in the old pinstripes because the new uniforms had not come in.

    Those are dreams that YOU should be having...not me!! I'm thinking way too much about this, apparently. :D

    you bring up a point that I wonder about.

    The additional monies that Les is supposedly gonna make from the boom in popularity does not go stright to the Riockets if I understand it correctly.

    Sure, the name rights money from Toyota goes to the Rockets...
    but IIRC, merchandising and tv deals for overseas broadcasting and such as that are considering as BRI (basketball related income) and as such are taken in by the league and divided up amongst the teams..

    Any CBA experts wanna comment on this? Am I understanding the CBA correctly?
