    1. A potentially top lottery pick.
    2. A great core of Harris, CDR, Lopez, Lee, Yi, williams
    3. New richest owner in the NBA.
    4. Move to Brooklyn.
    5. Opening at Head Coach
    6. More capspace than almost anyone

Here it comes....weather looks like a slight chance of bashing, maybe a few insults about not knowing where threads go, and we're gonna finish up with a lock.

a great core does not lose almost 20 games in a row

Yi = mediocre, also is 25 or 26 instead of 22
Williams = Project that can't shoot
CDR = Guy that takes over scoring for a crappy team(Jim Jackson?)
Lee = is looking like Rafer Alston's shooting apprentice

    let's see

"will the nets be a contender?"

"more open cap space than anyone"

think there's a missing piece of info in order to evaluate the question? Like what may or may not happen with the cap space?? Do you want the bbs to answer whether they'll get a lebron/bosh/wade? Cause I promise, no one knows.

It depends on who is going to fill those wide open spaces. The current "core" of Nets suck.

I recently found myself wondering if the Nets would be willing to take on T-Mac for a package centered around Devin Harris for even more cap space next season.

Probably not. But if they had enough room to sign Lebron, Wade and Bosh - wouldn't that be interesting?

If they can land Lebron and the #1 pick in the draft (more than likely John Wall) anything is possibe.

even without the arena, I think the Nets will still be a very decent team next year. Capspace + high lottery pick can do wonders for your performance. A lot of scouts are saying next year's draft is heavy with talent, and the free agency is deep next year as well. Thorn imho is a very decent GM so I really can't see them stinking next year.

That's not even counting Harris,Lee,Lopez, which I think is already a decent bunch

great offensive players, but ultimatley a defensive team wins, they lack that, and bringing one guy in isn't going to help, unless you bring in jvg as coach and trade for some solid low post defenders, i see them still 2 years away from being in the east playoffs.

They will DEFINITELY make the playoff next year if they gather some nice pieces with the lottery pick and cap space. To say that they lack defense is not quite true. Brooks' a pretty good defensive player & Courtney Lee's definitely a good defender aswell (even tho i think he is more suit to be a bench player). With an addition of a decent PF and a shooting guard. Then you are looking at a pretty nasty team.

How can anyone know? The nets could get 2 or 3 big difference makers through draft and FA, or they could screw up the draft pick and be spurned by the top FA.
