Will the lockout determine if you buy Madden or NBA 2K this year?

Both look like they will be good additions to their respective franchises. Plus for the NBA...it may be the closest thing we get to the NBA in a while..

 

I pre-ordered Madden 12.

I haven't played a Madden game since 2005.

But amazon was offering a $20 giftcard with preorder, so I figured why not, if it helps get me through the lockout, even better.

 

Im not purchasing any NFL or NBA licensed items until they are playing again.

 

I'll probably get one of the two. Not sure which yet.

I don't follow the NFL, so the whole roster thing won't bother me as much as it would with the NBA.

 

Why would the lockout have any effect on whether or not these games are good?

I won't be buying Madden.... but I'll definitely be buying NBA 2k12.

 

I refuse to buy a 2k game that boasts legacy teams but fails to include the Rockets' championship teams. Madden is only a must buy every 2-3 years.

 

Amazon has the pre-order special with a $20 gift credit? Once you pre-order, is that made available to you instantly?

I haven't bought an NFL game since EA bought the exclusive licensing rights. I don't plan on starting now.

I think I've bought the last 4 NBA 2K games, so I'm a little reluctant to buy this year's version. I'll probably just manually update the rosters on 2K11.

I saw it this morning and it is still offered on their homepage. Oh well, if it is not instant than never mind.

 

After the mandatory update for 2k11 that ruined myplayer mode, I won't buy 2k12. As far as Madden, I'll probably just get NCAA12 and play the hell out of that rather than buy an NFL game with the same rosters.

Depends on what they added for gameplay, presentation, online, My Player,etc.

2k hasn't announced anything so far except for worthless Move-controls.
The biggest struggle with 2k is the online-experience, servers laggin too often, hard to get decent connection in crew-games, many games not countin.
I'd buy 2k12 in a heartbeat if they fix the hacking:
Every 2nd game vs. 99rated 7'5ft giants with grey Afros(why the F are these guys always lookin that dumb???) that run like Bolt, have handles like Pistol Pete and shoot like a mixture of Miller, Bird, Allen, Gervin.

Also revamp My Player, the playcalling is silly, the generated players look like they have down-syndrom, the AI is effin broken, your mates don't make shots and don't move like they should, the cpu hits everything on higher difficulties.

I could go on with things like "Remove Black Top, add Allstar-Weekend" and and and.....

Think I will buy Madden, really promising details released so far.

 

That's all the more reason to buy them with no games on.
