If he moves to the 2 wouldnt Kobe be over Steve for that all-star sg position, or will he still play pg in the AS game!?!?!

 I could care less about the ASG....It's all about the season. He could be a backup....

Steve would get killed at the 2. I don't see him stoping Tmac, or Kobe.

why do people here still care about the allstar game? our team is just proof that all-stars mean nothing.

Steve can't stop Parker! Forget Kobe or TMac. I am okay with changes to this team (though I still prefer to keep Cat and Eddie), but Steve at the two on defense is suicidal.

individual awards and recognition are great; However, I care about playoffs...if Steve gets distroyed by Kobe/T-mac so be it as long as Rockets win. :D

Of course he can! He just has to be the best player at his position in the West.

The starting 5 are not chosen by their primary position, but by center, foward, and guard.

That's why we see AI as the starting point even though he isn't a PG.

As long as Steve is voted in in the first place, he should start at PG.

Guys, I would care for any individual awards only if it comes with a ring or at least some kinda of good showing in playoffs. Without any of those, ASG or other awards mean very little.

he doesn't deserve it. Starbury is twice the leader that he is.

If lebron is in west, then steve wont see another ASG for a long time.

    lebron
    kobe
    marbury
    nash
    finley
    baron davis(moved to west)
    coaches choice backups:
    bibby
    arenas
    parker

Poor steve. Unless...the rockets trade cat&grif for miller, and wink wink deal Brand, then our record would be so awsome that fans/coaches would put him in.

    this is a joke right.
parker maybe he is young, Kobe is better, but Arenas Bibby davis aren't even close to francis. Finley is getting older and francis is better. Francis is also more popular then Nash. And also more popular then Marbury so the only player elected over francis are Kobe, and maybe James, (i'm nots ure how popular he wil be in the nba)

I just thought that steve missing the playoffs for 4 straight years, and marbury/nash/finley/kobe all doing good in playoffs, that steve wont be voted in anymore until the rox go into playoffs.

As it was said above, the starting guards are just guards and are not defined by PG and SG.

The starting five is clearly a popularity contest and Francis and Kobe lead the charge in the West. And despite what Marbury is doing this season Francis still probably will be chosen on that team next year. Kobe of course is a perenial lock.

The real kicker though is LeBron James. If you really care if Steve starts in the All Star game, better hope James gets selected by an Eastern Conference team because he WILL start next year! You know fans will stuff the ballots with his name. The hype is just too large.

In fact I would say he will either beat out AI or McGrady on the East if he starts, most likely AI.

Just like Yao was this year, LeBron will be starting next year in the all star game.

Actually, come to think of it...perhaps he will be classified as a FORWARD when he comes into the league (Small Forward). If an Eastern Conference team drafts him then he doesn't even have to compete with the Eastern Guards in AI/McGrady. Kind of the same way that Duncan does not have to compete with Shaq at Center and is bogusly cast as a PF when he is clearly a 7'0" center.

Don't worry about this. Steve will start if we vote for him. There are plenty of Houston fans voting. They're supposed to like to vote more than go to games. LOL. Not to mention the Chinese fans. :D
