at the risk of getting admonished by some of you posters, I want to tell you about a dream I had two days ago. This really occurred, by the way. I'll keep it short: I had a dream Shaq came to Houston. I think it took place around 3-4 years in the future. You have to understand that I actually believed this dream while I was having it, and it was justified by way of Shaq being really good friends with McGrady and Yao. Could Shaq play the 4 spot?
Hey, when his contract expires and he wants to sign with us for the veteran's minimum, I'll welcome him with open arms. But I'm thinking....no.
I had a dream like 15 years ago that we traded Deam for Wilkens and in my dream I was like "Nique doesn't have an outside shot!!!!!!!"
I can imagine this actually. Perhaps he will retire and then realise he misses playing too much. Probably in his dotage Shaq wont be bothered to score too much and will be banned from drawing fouls and going to the freeline. But he can probably stand around in the paint and swat quite well if he puts his mind to it. Besides, rox will surely need a replacement for Deke before he gets to age 70 ...
I had a dream that there were nothing but well thought out, mature, insightful, intelligent posts on the BBS.... That's never going to happen either.
at the risk of getting admonished by some of you posters, I would bet my money on Yao one day being a Laker than Shaq being a Rocket. Of course I dont want to win my bet.
I would go a bit further actually and say that IF shaq was still playing in 4 years time (which is unlikely), then this would actually be THE single most likely role for him. Because of the way he expresses himself, people can easily underestimate Shaq's thoughtfullness. I think he is sensible enough to want to be an A grade role player rather than a C grade team star. And how else is he to escape the fate of turning into a tub of lard like Diego Maradonna, featured recently in another part of the forum, or the rockets bench warmers (e.g. Weatherspoon), come to that.
