Tito will not be on the team...that has been pretty well understood. That makes 11, and we really need 15.
We don't need 15, if we run into injury problems, we sign CBA players to 10-day contracts. If Les is really concerned about the luxury tax he is not going to carry 3 unnecessary contracts. j
If you think back to the times we carried 14-15 guys, it was when we had injuries, or a couple of young guys we wanted to hold onto. Right now, we have 10 guys, and all except maybe Boki are going to be rotation guys. There is no need to bring in 5 more guys. We just need to bring in a a couple of guys to sit at the end of the bench. j
Like I said, I think the Rockets only have 1.5 to 2 million they could spend on free agents. That basically means they aren't going to be acquiring any more significant players unless someone decides to take a lot less money to play in Houston for some strange reason, or we make a trade. If we don't sign Maddox it will probably be some other scrub.
we gave pike half the MLE. so we still have just under $2.5M of the MLE left, and the $1.5M exception.
If we sign someone like Oakley, Hardaway, Rodman, Mark jackson...These guys only cost about 900K... It's just about getting these guys to play for a 7th or 8th seed, they don't care about the money.
