I really like Richie Frahm since when I saw him when he was a Sonic in 2003. I saw him score 31 points versus the Nuggets and was 10-11 with 6 threes. I really feel he could be a solid 10th-11th man like Scott Padgett was last year. He could really shoot and he is getting better on defense it seems. Put him on the same side of the floor as Yao and both him and Yao could be successful. I don't understand why JVG doesn't to this. Teams won't be able to double team Yao if Frahm hits his shot. He is a unrestricted free agent this offseason but I think he deserves at least a non-guaranteed contract to training camp. What you guys think? By the way, is Frahm out for the year? His injury looked pretty bad last night.
Although he's not as consistent as Padgett was, I think this team is desperate enough for shooters on the cheap that he might survive the roster overhaul for next season.
Agreed. Frahm's definitely not the rebounder like Scott Padgett, but with the make-up of our team, he could be a Steve Kerr type of player. Sorry, but Rybo has to go.
I really hope Frahm stays. He's the only one that can hit the 3 consistently. Esp. when Mac gets back he'll get tons of open looks.
I think he'll be here. Hell, he's the only guy on the team right now that can hit the three consistently...on top of that he's a pretty good post passer and can take it to the basket on occasion. We need more guys like him on this team (preferably more athletic and better defensively though).
Actually I think Frahm may be more consistent than Padgett as far as shooting goes. And he really surprised me last night with those back-to-back dunks - gives you the impression that he's not even playing up to his potential.
I just realized that as a rookie he played in Seattle and his career high was made there: 12/20/03, 10/11FG, 6 3pt made, 31 pts! And he set his college record in 3pt made. What happened to him after such a promising rookie season? Did he get injured, fail drug test, get into fight with someone important? The guy can be a legit 3pt specialist on this team.
Those weren't just dunks. Those were thunderous dunks. I didn't know he was capable of that. I think he just needs to let loose a little.
I vote for him staying. If he gets a little more time I think he might be able to make a nice contribution to the team once Tmac is back. I think right now he and Luther are the two most promising shooters on the team, even though that is not saying much I do not think the rockets can get a shooter of his caliber without shelling out more cash than they can spend at this point. I say keep him for a little more time, watch and see how he plays in training camp next year and go from there.
i like shooters... don't we need them....he has done pretty well so far....and I definately take him over RyBo....to me, Rybo reminds me of that guy that from that movie w/ ben stiller....the chubby white guy throwing up shots and calling out names and stuff....lol
Yeah, he sort of does. Funny thing, I was just thinking of Mchale today, out of the blue, thinking that he'd be a good post- move teacher for Yao.
