They are in very impressive run, 8-2 in the last ten. And they are four games behind the #8 seed. And the teams fighting for the #8 seed in the east are pretty inconsistent. They just beat Utah... I am really not looking forward to tomorrow's game.
They could have sure used a Greg Oden or Kevin Durant... too bad. Was making the playoffs (just to get swept) worth it?
Interesting how Philly started playing better after Iverson left and the Nuggets actually played worse after adding Iverson although they seem to starting to get it together now.
It is interesting. Iverson was a blackhole in Philly that serious hampered the development of his young teammates, where as Andre Miller seems to be exactly what the sixers needed to take advantage of their athleticism. With Iverson its look to crash the boards on missed shots and stay alert so you can bail him out when he gets out of control, with Miller its cut to the basket, get good flashes down low and he'll find you and put you in a good position.
They are too far behind. If they somehow keep up the inspired play anything is possible but it's doubtful. 3 of these 4 teams must completely tank: Indy, Orlando, New Jersey and the Knicks while the Sixers must keep winning because they are at least 4 losses behind ALL of them. I can see them passing the Pacers but not the others.
fans of basketball who come to NBA Dish to discuss other basketball teams... I like a good underdog but I dont think the Sixers will make it... they started playing catchup from too far behind the pack... the 8th seed race is a four team matchup between the Magic, Pacers, Nets, and Knicks... It will probably come down to a two team race by the last week: the Nets and the Magic I was hoping the Knicks would take the last seed, maybe even go .500, but that probably wont happen
I dont think so I think it will be 1) Detroit Pistons 2) Cleveland Cavaliers 3) Toronto Raptors 4) Washington Wizards 5) Chicago Bulls 6) Miami Heat 7) New Jerseys Nets 8) New York Knicks Orlando Indiana Philly Milwaukee Atalanta Charlotte Boston
well, this is the eastern conference we're talking about. of course they get to play other eastern conference teams so maybe you're right. and it's not really fair to say philly just started playing better as soon as iverson left. they were 5-10 when he played and 0-8 when he didn't, and then they still did a bit of losing after the trade, going 13-20. only now are they on their run. and denver didn't have carmelo or jr smith when AI first got there. they still aren't very good but they weren't that great when he got there either. funny they're also better w/o webber but the pistons are much better for having webber.
Its possible. They do have the pieces. It doesnt make sense tho. I'd tank if I were philly. Maybe they need some inspiration from Charlotte on wha a shameless tank job is
